Amid rumors of a potential MK Trilogy Remaster, we have an opportunity to see how those games would look in action. Initially reported by DSO Gaming, the demo from the canceled fan project is available online for download.

It appears pretty barebones, the Unity version (one I messed with) just gives you Sub-Zero and red Sub-Zero. The Gamemaker one lets you mess with Scorpion as well. It's nothing super crazy, but it's a fun way to fill a few minutes and it lets you live out the fantasy of playing this game that never was. You can get the Unity download and Gamemaker download in the respective links attached. Below, I'm attaching a video from Interloko, who tagged us in a stream he just finished which got me to discover this. It appears as if he's playing a newer build/different fan project, but looks great either way.

The third prototype is in fact the oldest one, the MUGEN version :)

Woah this is awesome. I would like to be able to do something like this myself. Anyone out there that knows about making games? I would love to help with this project,

I have copies of the two. It's okay. @interloko's HD art looks amazing but I just don't like MK1. It plays like shit, but like this port is VERY faithful. I need to do further testing haha.

WB are absolute fools for not going through with this. Could have turned out amazing, even in its super unfinished state it runs so smoothly.

Did you make the select screen music for this HD game or did they see it and ask if they could use it?

I'm one of the devs at Eyeballistic, the team that produced the two demos in the title post. I did all sound design and composing but sadly all of my work and the rest of the teams' work was unfinished.

And for clarity Interloko was not attached to these projects or the dev team that produced them.

Oh okay. Again awesome job on the music, I crank up the volume everytime it plays in the intro for a Netherkast episode.

I don’t even understand how this is a thing. Did they use new actors and recapture everything? Or is it all just digital touch-up? I’m so confused.

      But damn... it’s so awesome.

All 3D models. Think of it as a very modern version of the old Donkey Kong Country and Killer Instinct graphics approach.

      That's right, I'm not an Eyeballistic's employee.

And for a better clarification: In the stream I've tested the 2 leaked Eyeballistic's prototypes (Unity and Game Maker). Also a third prototype was shown (oldest). That was the version I was involved (MUGEN).

Also thanks man for playing the demos. We enjoyed the commentary and glad people got to see something even if those were early and obviously rough builds. Appreciate it!

Sadly because a language barrier I couln't comment more. I can read but speak in English is harder to me.
As soon as I can I plan to upload a short video showing other stuff I found in both demos.

Right now I don't have all the free time I want but I'm always open to test (and find bugs) in games.
