omfg, the combo system PISSES me off so bad sometimes. Even offline it definitely leaves much to be desired. I love this game, but that's why it's all the more a big deal....if it sucked and no one liked it, people would just quit, but it's 90% good still and people want to play it. It feels like that Tao Feng game John Tobias did on Xbox1 that feels like pulling teeth out just trying to link strings sometimes. So much potential ruined by laziness or poor choices.

True, but it doesn't mean he will either. Saying we shouldn't ban Kabal because REO will do the exact same thing with Kenshi or Sonya is insanely presumptuous.

I'm against the ban, but not because of some ungrounded fear that an ex-Kabal player is going to find broken tech and destroy tournament scene with another character. That's silly.

No one knows that for sure, and I doubt that'll be the case.

It's always been the case with REO. Every character he has picked up has been called broken, fucked up, or at least top tier when he's mained them. All of them. CSZ, Kung Lao, Mileena, Kabal, etc. No one gives this guy a break. lol.

Actually I think that regardless of Kabal is the best character in the game, it should not be banned, the reason is that even banning a kabal always another character before which would be in a similar location, few bad matchup, etc, ban that character's next? Kung Lao, Kenshi, Sonya, Cyrax?? ...

There is something that I disagree with REO. I have over 20 years of playing fighting games, and humbly say that and also been the best in many of them and over the years I have met some really good players, experienced and talented, and I can say that REO has talent, beyond being the best player kabal.

There are certainly many more kabal players but none is compared and none achieved many successes, the character was always there for anyone who wanted to learn and I do not understand that REO is subtracted much merit, I say he's a talented player and not only with kabal has obtained great achievements.

Another thing, if it is known that the stages play an important role when it comes to fighting, why not ban for kabal Rooftop day? or similar size stages to impair zoning, I just say it could be an alternative.

As the stages are part of the matchup, you could do the following, (like there will be no patch), by this way could level the situation somewhat, default settings for Kabal, example:
Kabal vs jhoony - The Pit
Basically short stages to affect kabal zoning game.

Banning Kabal would kill this game and its reputation.

The people who are currently playing it would lose motivation to play and level up, and it would make the game look like a joke to everyone outside of the community and no one would ever consider picking it up. It would even harm the reputation of the franchise as a whole.

Kabal is kinda fucked up, but he is no where near broken enough to warrant a ban.

Gill (boss character)
Yoda/Darth Vader/link/spawn/heihachi/kratos/pacman/toro (system exclusive)
KOF boss characters
Akuma (ST boss character)

Marvel 1 let you use gold warmachine, red venom and all the secret characters.
MvC2 didn't ban anybody despite the holy trinity of Mag/Storm/Sent
3rd strike didn't ban Chun-li and she was obviously the best character in the game
CvS2 didn't ban any character or ban roll cancel (roll cancel exploit literally changed how you played the game if you played a groove that had a roll)


The list goes on. It takes a lot to ban a character in a fighting game if its not a 1) boss character and 2) system exclusive. Matter of fact I can't name a single character off the top of my head that is banned and a normal character that isn't system exclusive.

In some of those you can OS throw as well. Mashing Forward+H for throw tech will get you killed at higher levels in marvel. It just works a lot at low/mid range level of play.

Try using the lower half of the cast and say its "fun," especially a character with no armor. No reason a game's roster should have over half it's cast unviable because one character dominants them all due to neglectful balancing.

REO himself said that he attributes most of his Majors wins to Kabal. He tried Kung Lao at Evo and didn't make top 8.

Not taking away from REO as he is the definitive Kabal.

Pig is right, they can't ban kabal from this game, even tho he is mind fooking and op with that ndc shenanigans, Kabal forces people to level up, many people have won tournament with him, its true but also these players have lost to other players also, kabal is beatable, its a random factor sometimes to guess whats coming to you with all his BS, but this forces you to think more than the player using him, one day our minds will be so more powerful and developed than the kabal users and perhaps they won't win anymore. there is a lot of characters to choose from on this game for those who say that their chars struggle too much to fight kabal, kenshi, Eddie etc, it is up to the player to find an alternative if he feels powerless with his char, Pick someone else damn it!.
I know Reo himself stated that kabal is broken and he is proving it, and maybe he wants him banned to move on, who knows, but this will make the game look bad and make it too easy for other players, and still other op characters will be coming to the radar, leave kabal alone people, he makes me stronger =)

As for your "3-7." Do more specials? I thought that's all you do anyways. Silly Kenshi players downplaying their character's viability. Seriously though, it can't be that bad if Noob can some what hold his own. Noob/Kabal is 4-6 imo. It is a shitty match up of cat and mouse, but I've been saying this for awhile now. Kabal's biggest weakness is being in the corner. Guess who can end a match easily in the corner? Noob can easily advance under IaGB with dash d3's. And portals make Kabal wanna jump, jump... or Nomad dash, which I'm cool with. Drop the portal in front of ya bro, you just ran into it, GG. If Kabal has more than one meter, then it's time to pump the brakes. EN ND and cancels are a bitch to deal with. If he doesn't have that meter though, I'm coming at him hard.

Regardless, that's not the issue. Kabal is braindead. Low Risk/ High Reward, tools that cover all weaknesses. An hour of learning ND cancels and you're on your way to being a Kabal player. Kabal players lose because the majority flow chart too much with him instead of adapting to their opponent. Smarter players learn to mix it up and take advantage of the brokeness he has, which is why we see him at the top all the time in majors, used by the same people.

Tall characters don't have that luxury. They'll still get tagged from an IaGB thanks to this games awesome "hitboxes." They must dash and do a down poke, which leaves them open to random Nomad Dashes or the fav, Ground Saws. Fun times to deal with.
