ECC12 UMK3 Tourny at 8 on the Break October 6th Results

So here we go again. UMK3 at the Break for ECC now the 5th year in a row that I am aware of. This will be on the arcade machine at the Break, no console or emulation. I expect to see any and all players who have been to the Break to show up, and I know there is a huge amount of new players who can make it but need some motivation. Possibly the most important reason to show up of all is for Break Steaks! This is over a month away folks. Plenty of time to practice and get out there for the tri-state area at least. As always there can be anywhere from 4 to 30+ UMK3 players at the Break for a given tournament, it just depends on who is available when. Made in New York L.I. players I hope to see all of you out there. Zach if you read this talk to everyone.

The tournament is the 6th and 7th, but UMK3 will be held on the 6th (Saturday). Other games generally include:

MvC2
CvS2
Tekken 5
SC
SF3
SFF2T

There are a ton of other games as well.

I deleted a bunch of posts in this thread. I don't understand what the deal is with the hate and when I say hate I mean going out of your way to attack people. Just because they've done something wrong doesn't mean you should harp on it. There are a lot of players on here that do this now and it has to stop. There is ONE thread on this entire site that is meant for talking about player behavior. There is one thread for complaining about general things.

Someone posted that they were thinking about attending this in person tournament, and to me that's saying they are ready to compete and willing to face the music if they lose. If they drop online, it's not really such a huge deal. It's disrespectful, but sometimes guys drop just to get to the next match faster not to lose momentum. I play guys on Kaillera who press the credit button in between rounds constantly like the start button in Tekken. That's annoying because I'm not use to it since you can't do that in an arcade.

In any event, this thread is not for bashing, flaming, calling people out, etc. It's to say whether or not you're interested in going and ask questions. If you're not attending there is very little reason to post in here unless it's "Can't wait to see vids" or something like that. Although I do appreciate being warned about possible problem players, there were two "bad apples" at EVO and they accepted things the way they were for the most part.

In any event, Goku you can simply go to http://www.yahoo.com/maps and get directions. If it's an hour away there is no reason not to go. It's so much fun to play in person on a cabinet.

yea i really want to go and attend but i've been spending the past couple days helping my brother out with his car, tearing it down and rebuilding it, and i don't think im going to be able to get everything done in time to take the trip. when do you think might be the next possible tournament? I haven't played on a machine since i believe 10yrs, in a local pizza shop that had a UMK3 machine. we just pulled the motor out last night and still have alot of work to do, so please keep me informed on the next possible tournament in Jersey, i'd really like to attend.

The tournament is a month away. There's gotta be a way to get there by then, even if you take a train.

on another note shock and frankie how the hell are you guys :) my kids are back home from vacation and school started so sorry I haven't been on here lately

I'm doing good bro! We should all get Nintendo DS's and get some wifi gaming action going while we wait inline at the cabinet :D

Hi Frankie glad your doing ok, Is that game out yet for DS anyways the mk?? Speaking off ill bring my DS and show you what i was talking about on it. Any games you want me to bring ?

Damn I wish I could go and at least watch. NJ is close, but is yet so far away from Ohio. :cry:

How would one go about setting up a UMK3 tourney? I work at a huge 64 lane bowling alley ( www.palacelanes.com ) and there is plenty of room...any ideas?

this was almost 13+ years ago when everyone used to play they dont have that game anymore

OK so right now it looks like me, Frankie, Summoning, gemdoom, Kyle (told me he'll be there), GokuRen possibly, RushedDown said he'll be there, and another guy from SRK asked about it before I posted in the thread. Julian is there 99% of the time for tournaments. Phi will be there as well of course, more than likely Rob Sigley. I will see about getting Busta out there but I'm not sure if he's wrestling that weekend yet. About 10 or 11 semi-definites right now. There are a lot of other wild cards I would like to see out there like DarkViru5, Hades and Natas. I haven't heard anything from any of the MiNY guys but there's like 12 of them, hopefully at least one will represent! Keep the chatter going guys. My goal is 16 which would surpass last year's ECC.

Doubtful. The break will be filled to capacity most likely. There is only room for a few console setups and they are packed full of people for the larger tournies.
