I remember playing this Superman/Green Lantern player who would pick Metro Rooftops and consistently keep my Green Arrow out with a mixture of projectiles and the drones, mostly the drones. I lost three times to him because of the stage, why do I blame the stage? Because when I fought him the 4th time, Batcave was finally picked over Metro Rooftops and you want to know what happened? I got past his projectiles, and whooped his ass. :cool: Looks like interactables can make anyone appear to be a good player when the reality is that most guys really seem to depend on interactables to win the match.

I heard you can just backdash the interactables, but have you guys tried doing that ONLINE? It feels like the timing has a half frame window. :eek:

A long time ago i played raiden in Mk9 because of my desire to expose the characters strengths because he was challenging to play and i believed him to be good... I still believe him to be a good character in most matchups that arent kung lao and kabal and possibly reptile and kenshi... I played him because it would be extremely gratifying to play well with him because it would take amazing reads and spacing implementation and patience... and to win with that character would truly be an example of skill and mastery and high-level play...


I put raiden on the backburner so i could develop better fundamentals playing less abstract characters like johnny cage... i still refuse to play kung lao or sonya unless its just fucking around because they wouldnt be gratifying to win with, Sonya is absolutely ridiculous and sitll underplayed by our community in terms of skill... i play her to make fun of the game and to troll... shes so fucking stupid its hilarious... my idgaf sonya is a force to be reckoned with

Now i play shang because i want to display my mastery of multiple characters and the power of soul steal, and i play kenshi to display his rushdown and because hes a power trip, and cage because im good with him and hes fun and i believe i play him differently and he takes footsies and kang because i want to display my vision of rushdown and freddy to try to unify his op zoning with his great underused mixup game
i have realized my raiden has gotten a lot better because of my spacing and anti-airing and part of me wants to put time into him because all ive been doing is playing injustice but everytime i pop mk in its like ive gotten miraculously better by not playing because i dont overthink it anymore.

Winning but sacrificing your desire to do something creative or original is not worth the sacrifice in my opinion. If i lose because of abuse that abuse shouldnt be in the game because the game should be more a battle of wits, not a battle of getting hit by robots... Saying the world is unjust so deal with it is not a valid argument if it can be made better in your power... its just a video game, it cant be perfect, the world isnt perfect, but it can be made better, it can be analyzed and broken down and fixed... so do it and dont whine about balance adjustments because they wont be perfect but they will make hte game more INTERESTING and gratifying...

dont ban rooftop, FIX rooftop, make the thing come back less frequently or go away quicker so i can try to transition you to another level

or ban it...

If that damn thing didn't respawn, it wouldn't be an issue. They can certainly fix that in one the 14 upcoming patches. Oh, and make Ms. Quinn fight with a spoon instead.

Just cuz they are a sore winner, doesn't mean you have to be a sore loser.
I've heard "Get good kid" a lot by people who are terrible in all sorts of games...nonFG included. I just say "Okay, I will...next time don't only use interactables and maybe you can get good too" and just leave lol no harm done for me and they have something to think about.
