DetroitBalln313 New Secret Shang Tsung Tech

EndofGameBoss

That's about right.
I agree with Jago. If you really do have new tech, you shouldn't announce you have anything at all. It should just be shown at a tournament. Now people will be trying to find it to prepare against it.

I think things like these will be more hype if they are done unannounced. People will be like, WTF is that!! There can be no disappointment if it wasn't promised in the first place.

If there really is a new secret tech that you have, then it might not be a good idea to talk about it in the first place, lol. Now people are gonna be hitting the lab with Shang to see if they can find anything, and they will be on the lookout and try to prepare against what you may have. :p
This is why I feel that it is good hype. 1) It gets people interested in coming to, or watching on stream, NEC. 2) People are now gonna hit the lab hard (which they should be doing anyway ;)) to try to figure out what it is and counter it. So it's all good all around :D

EndofGameBoss and Sasuga: But if noone knows the new tech is coming, less people will know about it. Like developing a new iPhone or something. They advertize the shit out of it for months to make people want to buy it. Same thing here. They advertise the shit out of the fact they have new tech so people will tune into the stream to see this new tech.

Now if they don't deliver, WE RIOT! :sniper:

1. cry me a river about that, happens all the time to me.

2. first we had the request a buffs and nerfs threads in every forum. the new fad is to make a thread saying you have new tech. if this is the new "IN" , let me know know so i can make "NEW TECH" threads in every forum and end this fad now.

The game just wont develop if you hide things from people. People find new tech, but if their opponent doesn't know how to beat it it will just keep the game played at a lower level because people wont be going into much depth.

Best way to improve IMO is to get a sparring partner, tell them all ur patterns and weaknesses in your gameplan so they can exploit it in you. That makes you change your style and eventually you'll just become harder to read and therefore harder to beat.

So instead of people trying to hit the lab to find out what it is, it would be better if everybody knew so that they could hit the lab to find out how to beat it. Evolution.

Well i think the point about announcing new tech is that the person with the new tech wants attention. No other reason. And 99% of the tech usually isn't new.

The reason anybody has so-called "secret tech" is because of the tournament factor. It's nothing new to keep certain tactics or techniques private when there is a tournament involved. Basically the less your opponent knows, the better of a chance you have. The downside of this is it hinders the game itself's evolution since everybody starts becoming so reluctant to share info, especially since you have to learn to play a new game every patch; most notably for people who use a character named Raiden, Sub Zero, or Kung Lao.

If high level players felt they could freely share info , regardless of risking exposing themselves before tournaments, this game would have probably evolved a lot further by now.

I remember back in the day elbowing soooo many people in the nose because I knew how to do Scorpion's fatality in MK but wouldn't share. So people would crowd the machine (and me) to watch what I was doing. Man, do I ever feel bad now. I mean, it was just a fatality, it wasn't even tech.

Not sure why I went into that, just seemed apropo.........

- jump punch b1214~du4 does over 10% on block and builds nearly 75% of a bar.

^^^can trap at times with b1214 du4 chip after a blocked du4

-d1~soulsteal

-d3~soulsteal

- holding back at end of morph will never morph you back (Serves no purpose)

- shang can be hit after rollout during morphback

- possible new tech involving a block trap after du4

that's all that comes to mind for shang for me
