SPECTRELIGHT

Imo, they added the ability to turn LTs and IOs off so that one could practice combos on stages without them and then add them once they are ready to implement them in their game. It also makes every stage a "SF4 Training Room" so that you're not in the same stage training all the time.
I say NO they shouldn't be banned, but there are obvious reasons to adjust the damage for some, and the range of the tree and car MUST be fixed. The car on Wayne Manor has major animation issues. It just looks wrong. Perhaps make it like the Krypton Ship in Fortress where it's a swinging motion instead looking like you set off a mouse trap. The respawns could be more random as to when they appear and where, but the respawning is too much. Maybe instead of respawning automatically, in the case of droids/robots, you'd have to "order" another one to the stage. This is probably impratical, but I'm brainstorming. The damage of the IOs should be reduced because theoretically they wouldn't do so much damage to SuperHeroes or SuperVillains. Damage should be normalized.
What would be truly interesting is if you could use them not to harm your opponent, but throw them away or destroy them, like some of the gadget characters. It would add another dynamic, possibly meta-game of trying to get to an IO before your opponent disposes of it or uses it on you. Maybe even an evade move like KOF games, so every character could have a tool to avoid IOs.
OR, have an anti-air move that would destroy or deflect the IOs, so that you'd really have to time them, instead of just OTG or braindead throws. Or even have their use cost meter, and the MB versions cost more meter, so that it'd be a sacrifice for the player using them.
IOs and LTs are part of the "Ambiance" of this game. In most comic books, cartoons and movies Heroes and Villains are getting thrown into buildings and structures, as well as having objects thrown at them. Taking them out or banning them would take away from the game, and numb it so to speak as stage interaction adds an additional strategy to consider.
These are suggestions, thoughts, and not demands, excepting the car and tree. Ultimately, I agree that this discussion needs to wait after EVO so that we may see how, if and when they are used in high-level play. FGs have a high level of complexity without stage interactions and I feel people aren't accustomed to having to think of & handle that aspect of gameplay.
