damn I love mk9... I really hope NRS releases a PS4 remastered version of it with revamped online when they announce MK11. Would be a great way to hold us over for MK11, and I really want MK9 on a current gen console either way.

I loved what the players showed at Combo Breaker for the NRS titles.
They showed in MK9:
That people can overcome Cyrax resets and Kenshi zoning with footsies and still win. It was awesome.

They showed in Injustice 2:
That rush-down is alive in this game in the form of mind games. That first game showed it. It was amazing.

They showed in MKXL:
That zoning exist in that game the form of mind games too.
That real footsies slow down the game to the point that there will be even time outs in that crazy fast paced game... Like that game where there was a D'vorah vs Kitana.
It was spectacular.

The players showed why the 3 games are indeed awesome, all of them were looking very good.
The bad part was those Combo Breaker blackouts in the stream. It made me sad to not being able to see all the tournament for those petty shutdowns.

I haven't loved a tournament like this one in years, MK9 is still my the most hype NRS game free.

Wafflez and even more so Dizzy were my MVPs, I missed watching them so much!

This Injustice 2 bracket and Top 8 are bananas. Pretty much everyone who you'd typically expect to make it got bodied -- Semij, King, Theo, Honeybee, Tekken Master, Hayatei, Iluusions all sitting on the sidelines.

Imo this might show who was really hungry for this tournament and who was riding on their previous success.. Curious to see what happens after this.

Either that or it's the effect of people messing around and playing MK9/MKX over the weekend/multiple games. I don't know, but it's interesting.
