She feels overloaded with stuff she has. But its NRS style to put cool abilities from different characters into one. She is the triborg of this game, just consisting of Tremor, Fujin and Rain abilities. RIP those 3. But I see a lot of casuals are pleased. Good for you.

All those people comparing all MK Gods to Greek Gods are misinformed and need to play Mythologies Sub-Zero and read about where John Tobias got a lot of his inspiration from with his characters, especially the God Characters (In addition to Movies and Pop Culture).

Shinnok is different though as his story takes inspiration from Judeo-Christian beliefs in how he was cast down from the Heavens and banished to the Netherealm. He is essentially the Devil of MK even though In Mythologies it does say he killed Lucifer to take over the Netherealm.

Cetrion and Kronika you can probably say are more Greek influenced in some way.

You literally contradicted yourself in the same post. Yes Raiden and Fujin are based on Japanese mythology but the rest of them are based on either religion or Greek mythology. So yes they are perfectly comparable.

 

Some of the Gods depending on who are inspired by Japanese, Greek and/or in some ways Christianity(though there was a Lucifer already if you read the MK 4 comic that tied into the games canon) Shinnok grew to power in Hell/Netherrealm by having to defeat Lucifer which took years but he had help from Quan-Chi. The rest I think honestly are just made up, created by Midway, NRS writers etc. Like I see people on YT comparing Cetrion to "avatar" but she's like a billion times more powerful lol.

Hmm, no? I'm casual in terms of gameplay but I'm definitelly not one in terms of lore and bond to MK. So you missed that one.

I expect Geras to turn against Kronika and win. But I'm obsessed with Cetrion. If she won the tournament, I'd be happy.

In my opinion it's a shame to see such character in the Mortal Kombat universe. I really don't understand why NRS put a character like this... Seriously... She is a god, Raiden or Shinnok looks like simple human compare to her...

MK is MK, no need to put Injustice character in the game. She looks like poison ivy with the power of all the ninjas united and Kotal (light power). Her fatality is just too much... Enough superheroes, bring back dark ninjas, sorcerers, witch...

By the way, the game is awesome with a very good MK atmosphere But I am maybe too "old school" to appreciate such character. In my opinion it's a bad choice.

Kabal killed fighters with his face. Sindel wrapped her hair around her victims. Cetrion is very Mortal Kombat. And maybe very Injustice. I love both games.

Shes a elder god. NRS went with the direction of how she looked like,because she is other worldly, and divine.

Along with the power of the elements and being the goddess of life, she fits super thematically into those designs

yeah, they had to exaggerate her a bit, overloading with various special moves, in order to try to present her as a really powerful being inside MK lore universe .... but for me, that's OK and very acceptable, in order to differ her from the normal mortals in the game

I don't seem to remember anyone turning their enemies into meat confetti with a mouth solar laser in Injustice. I must have played a different version where everything was super hero censored.

 

Shes just poison ivy if she became the avatar lol. In all seriousness she looks really godly and im looking forward to trying her out.......even if shes a hard zoner.

The entire point of Mortal Kombat is that mortals take on sorcerers, monsters, tyrants and Gods in kombat. And they have a fair chance of winning!
