It seems we are not the only ones who thought Canary was underwhelming. Even casuals and youtubers who are not that into video games thought the same way about canary. Robin and Batman are street level characters and look how fleshed out they are. Canary is street level meta human and she really sucks compared to powerless Street level characters. Nah you're good man it's fine. I don't think Sonya was the reason she's in I think she's in because she's super popular,plays a role in the comics story,and is a very big JL character. Even more so, she didn't make it into IJ1 when she was supposed to so that further boosted her chances

Spawn is completely different. He has nothing to do with mkx, she has everything to do with injustice and the D.C. Storyline. Sonya literally had no parts of them including Canary. Dude she had concept art from IJ1 they probably had a few of these moves already tailored for her for all we know. She's in the game because she matters in the story and is a main justice league character that was requested in high demand. If you can't see that then I have no idea how to help u anymore

Batman has 10000 million gadgets and hella ways for him to combat you. He has way more options and while Canary does have the skillset to use thee gadgets, she does not use them as much as batman. She relies solely on her HAND TO HAND COMBAT. If they put batman in the game and didn't give him a grapple hook and a cape glide I'm sure you'd be mad at that. Sure I'd like her to have her batons or a staff,but why do that when y'all will bitch about it being a jade/nightwing/mournful kitana/ striker clone bullshit. They already have batman and robin(who has a sword), they don't need another character who relies on gadgets.

She doesn't really seem like that much of a Sonya clone. People who automatically think she's gonna play like Sonya from barely any game play need to chill out. It's almost as cringe as the people saying Supergirl's teleport was gonna be broke and it's fine in the beta. Or Blue Beetle the "D'Vorah clone" who is nothing like her, with one of his defining gameplay aspects being his projectile. People feel the need to be an expert on 2 minutes of footage, despite us having barely any info.

And yes as characters, Canary and Sonya share some similarities but Canary was definitely gonna be in this game. She herself is pretty popular, and she is closely connected to the Birds of Prey and a few a-list characters like Green Arrow and Batman. She is a brawler so she is gonna have "punching moves" like Sonya. So yeah..

I think people are missing the point, no one's saying she's gonna play exactly like her just that she literally has some of the exact same/similar) animations as her and Cassie, and some very defining parts of Sonyas playstyle, specifically the grenades and the stance. It's more stupid that people are denying that and all the Canary fucbois are liking these posts when they obviously aren't true.

People always make comments when animations are reused and this is no different except people are denying it for some reason.

Dinah/Black Canary is one of the most skilled martial artists in the DC universe, who specialises mainly in boxing and judo (almost as if these styles are seemingly the ones her strings are inspired by). If her strings were on random male character, don't think anyone would have an issue; seems to me like people see blonde hair and breasts and similar street-style movesets and scream "OMG SONYA!"

I think most of us calling her a clone are calling her one because... well, she looks and acts like a duck (clone), so she probably is one. If you actually knew as much about Black Canary as you're implying, you'd get that a focus on grenades for this character and recycling Sonya's wooden, staccato movements are insulting to a long history of impressive and agile feats of martial artistry and varied, clever uses of her canary cry.

She isn't looking like a clone because she has breasts and is blonde. She's looking like a clone because there is obvious move recycling here and it doesn't fit the Canary's style.

Edit: The Iron Fist glow nonsense is also perplexing.

There are COUNTLESS examples of trailers that didn't show what a character was fully capable of. Yes, part of it is to bring "the hype". But unless we see all of her normal, series, throws, meter burns, grabs and effects of all the moves on block, hit, stun etc, we have NO IDEA IF SHE "REALLY SUCKS". Hell..... in Canary's trailer, I didn't even see a single juggle over 3 hits. Are you really that stupid to think that all she can do after her srk meter burn kick juggle is a sweep? There are characters that have had trailers for them that haven't been fleshed out FOR MONTHS and still haven't been figured out. And you think you know more after a 2 and a half minute reveal trailer?
