Black canary - breakdown and analysis

I still can't comprehend how being a hand-to-hand specialist/brawler equates to being a "Sonya clone". Are people seriously this daft?

Dinah/Black Canary is one of the most skilled martial artists in the DC universe, who specialises mainly in boxing and judo (almost as if these styles are seemingly the ones her strings are inspired by). If her strings were on random male character, don't think anyone would have an issue; seems to me like people see blonde hair and breasts and similar street-style movesets and scream "OMG SONYA!"

The similarities are undeniable will she play like Sonya I don't think so but they both have:

Specially when Sonya uses krav Maga which is basically military standards, and they have grappling parries by standard.

Krav Maga is Israel's military art, but different military operations utilize different systems. The Navy Seals also use Krav Maga, but the Army Rangers train another discipline - as does every other military group.

Lmao. Screaming like she's sindel ? Fool,her superpower is fucking Canary cry which is a supersonic scream. She was created BEFORE sindel was. NRS isn't at fault that they made sindel and Canary had these similarites to THIER characters. The only thing you had a valid point on was the leg grab comparison. The air throw and parries isn't fucking exclusive to Sonya only. Cammy in SfV has that air throw,Kano has parries,kotal has a parry,sub zero has a parry. I'm sorry but I didn't see Canary pull out a string of wire and flip the opponent backwards for a combo like sonyas parry. Just because a character has moves like other fighting game characters doesn't mean the character is recycled. Y'all act like NRS was supposed to reinvent the fucking wheel when it comes to Canary, who's a damn female martial artist who doesn't rely on her superpower to fight her battles.

For this Canary girl I agree though. NRS is copying a lot of other characters with their new ones. Deadshot - Erron Black is another blatant example of "combine his variations for a lot of new guys moves". Stun grenade, Flip, S1 string, parry, stance, blonde mentor, and threw in her daughters string for good measure lol. I think most Sonya players will go to Canary Day 1.

Whether it's a good idea or not is subjective, but the similarities are too blatant for NRS to not know people wouldn't say this.

Nah you're good man it's fine. I don't think Sonya was the reason she's in I think she's in because she's super popular,plays a role in the comics story,and is a very big JL character. Even more so, she didn't make it into IJ1 when she was supposed to so that further boosted her chances

She doesn't really seem like that much of a Sonya clone. People who automatically think she's gonna play like Sonya from barely any game play need to chill out. It's almost as cringe as the people saying Supergirl's teleport was gonna be broke and it's fine in the beta. Or Blue Beetle the "D'Vorah clone" who is nothing like her, with one of his defining gameplay aspects being his projectile. People feel the need to be an expert on 2 minutes of footage, despite us having barely any info.

And yes as characters, Canary and Sonya share some similarities but Canary was definitely gonna be in this game. She herself is pretty popular, and she is closely connected to the Birds of Prey and a few a-list characters like Green Arrow and Batman. She is a brawler so she is gonna have "punching moves" like Sonya. So yeah..

It looks like she has a few kick string reminiscent of Cassie's. I'm not saying she's a clone by any chance it's just a few things I peeped. She looks like a Sonya based character with Cassie thrown in.
