Also, save your trait and release it while crouching. If Supergirl blocks, you will be allowed 1 free dash.

However, don't attempt to dash and jump, even if you release all 3 bats. Batman's trait still has 0 blockstun, so Supergirl can easily anti-air with her great D2,
Ahh, I didn't know that about the trait and block stun. I've explicitly been doing the bats dash+jump a ton and getting screwed by it. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah his small hurtbox makes it possible for him to dash under a lot of stuff, including Dex Starr and Blue Beetle's projectiles.

Supergirl WAS the best. Now I say Superman. Fucking damage man. Followed by f23 which apparently jails into itself lol.

i find it really hard to get used to batman's play style. i feel like he's really stubby without bats and opening patient people up is really hard. also zoning is a problem for me.

secondly can y'all react to supergirls lazer?

So I played the Beta with Batman for the first time today.

He feels different from his I1 counterpart, as some in this thread have said.

Trait cancels feel very different. I couldn't do b11 trait cancel for the life of me, but a lot of that comes to having I1 muscle memory. Anyone have any tips on how the windows for his cancels work?

Combos off 113 and b113 are different. I wasnt sure how to convert now. Most of what I was doing was Injustice 1 combos.

Also, what do people use off stray trait bat hits? I used to use b3, but due to its limited range that's not really an option. Should I use grapple?

I have a pile of work to do to get comfortable with the character again, but IIke the way Injustice 2 handles.

Realistically off 113 you need trait or mb grapple to continue (or not if you have no Meter)
B113 I believe you need a trait bat to juggle. Most other strings need a mb grapple now or mb up rang to combo iirc

It seems like they hugely shortened the cancel windows for a bunch of moves so you can still do things like B11 trait cancel but you can't buffer it, you have to time it so that you're inputting trait cancel as B11 ends. Same with mb grapple, you have to time it specifically. You can't just press mb as grapple hits and let the buffer do the work now.

I don't actually personally use 113 much now because it has a gap in it on block and I feel like 112 gives you access to better conversions on hit. Off of B113 if I don't have trait I just do B113, F23 right now, but if you do have trait then I believe you can do B113, F2~trait cancel, 123, B23.

Stray bat hits? From what distance? Grounded or juggle?

Grounded. I'm thinking of the old b3 space and I think it covered two character spaces? Something like that. I suppose grapple would be the best option.

Yeah his old B3 was amazing, sucks that it was nerfed. I also just watched an Injustice 2 gameplay video from August where Batman could still do 113 into F3 :(

Grapple is probably your best option from stray bats yeah, unless you're close enough and have enough bats then you can get dash up 112/223 .

When in doubt, armor out.
Makes me wonder if some of his insta-standup tech off of Trait+B112 or D3 worked in the beta. I didn't get my beta code or I'd tested this myself. Otherwise, pretty solid thread, a goldmine for people looking to stick with a familiar character.
