I got the Madcatz stick in the mail :)

It's pretty awesome I have to say, not sure about the sanwa parts though they feel strange to me, I might switch them for something that feels less loose.

It's a PS3 stick and it works plug and play on the PC aswell, no drivers nothing.

Some extra info for people who might want to use a madcatz stick on a PC:

Doesn't work with Nvidea or AMD chipsets.

It worked right away on my Intel but it didn't on my AMD system.

Once I plugged it into my USB PCI card it worked, this is due to the UHCI drivers that AMD apparently does not have.

All in all I think it's a nice stick :)

Congratulations, it looks very nice. As for the sanwa, I'm not sure you can switch the parts with IL....the best you can do is just put a bat top on the stick and it might get better.

I've been checking out options and you can do pretty much anything with these sticks, the modding possibilities are endless :)

Yea, a longer shaft and a bat top does sound like closer to home.

Thanks for the heads up :)

What were a lot of the games in Europe back in the arcade days? Bat top or ball top?
I only got to play on a couple of (awful leftover) machines at mini-casinos while I was there.

Fucking Tekken 3 with a SNK layout and shit, omfg. -_- I was better off gambling.

Gran Canaria had a surprising amount of quality cabinets, even in like 2005 or something when I was there.
I would have to say most def bat top, I've seen ball top sticks on cabinets but those were shady non official cabinets with games on it hardly anyone played.
My local arcade back in the day was huge with a lot of variaty in cabinets, dedicated and their "own" brand wich they used to switch boards on, all bat top.
I started playing street fighter II on these buttons though lol.

Other then that, nothing all too shady or different in comparison to the american arcades I don't think.

Another boring summer day and not a damn thing to do...Well, I decided to do my regular innovations on my stick. Put a brand new top and bottom art work (Same concept as before but on brand new glossy paper) and did a little paint job here and there to cover the battle scars. Special thanks and props to GoldenOreos for making those pictures for me.

You need the 360 model for most of the PCB mods. I'm pretty sure a Sanwa JLW-TM or UM should fit in there, and that's as close as you can get to a US style joystick. You can also replace the switches and spring in it to make it pretty close to an iL or Happs/Suzo.

Honestly, that thing came with one of the better Sanwa joysticks. Stick with it, you'll get used to it.

I'm about to make a switch for mine to swap between MK2/UMK3 & default config. If you're interested in this, I can give you the schematics when I'm done. All it requires is a 4p2t switch, and some wiring patience.
