I hope installing the updates on the PC version of MK are easy. once we get the ball rolling.

would be nice to be able to play the game online p2p. either though hamachi or caster program (like the doujin players do).

I'd really love if we got to the point where we could open the maps in Unreal Development Kit, it'd be sick to change lighting on certain stages, or take shit out of the BG. Or maybe some projectile swaps, make Liu Kang's EX Fireball cause the opponent to freeze or something, or maybe change the color of the rings around Noob's portals. I wanna make fun mods lol

So... yeah, i created and accout just to ask for a single mod.

You see, i use a ps3 controller to play the game on PC (Steam is better PSN by the way). Using the controller there's 2 ways to play the game:

1) using it as a "generic usb device", what makes each button a number. that is hellish to identify what button you're actually pressing and goes against your visual memory too

2) emulate a x360 controller with motioninjoy : then the buttons appear as xbox buttons. Way better, but still not perfect: colors and te x button goes against visual memory too.

What i want is a mod to replace the xbox button's pictues with playstation ones. this was already made on resident evil 6 (i'll post the link if allowed) and i believe some other games have similar mods .


well, that's about it. if anyone knows how to do it or who sould i ask for it, please tell me.

I agree. I'm using ps2 gamepad as secondary controller and numbers or xbox buttons in menus are pain in my ass.

Here is an archive that allows you to play as Kintaro:

Installation instructions:

1) Unpack to game's folder
2) Load the game... you'll see Mileenas thumbnail image is a tiny Johnny Cage one (dont go on it or it'll freeze the game)
3) Scroll down to the bottom (DLC characters area) and select the Mileena image, which is Kintaro
4) Play

Kintaro Moves:

Fatality 1: Up, Up, Up, Up, Number Pad 7
Fatality 2: Up, Up, Up, Up, Number Pad 9

I already tested it and it works great, Kintaro is playable in ladder & training, should be fine for tag team as well.

Please note that this disables Mileena for the time being, but it is possible to add Kintaro's own portrait and keep Mileena playable, it's still a work in progress. So use this mod if you just want to mess with Kintaro :)

There is one for Shao Khan as well, but that one disables Johnny Cage again, let me know if you guys want that one ;)

Could you please link me to the tools required to extract / repack the .xxx files and to edit the "coalesced.ini"? I'd just like to fool around with enabling characters myself (instead of bothering you busy, 'professional' modder :p)

I made a quick video showcasing all of the playable bosses, including Goro. This is great!


Thanks to all of the modders for their hard work. If this is what's possible within week 1, I can't wait to see what we'll have going on a month from now.

OMG dude thank you SOOO MUCH. I've been using UDK and Unreal Editor since 2004, so hopefully I can work on getting some of these assets to actually open in UDK and REALLY toy around with the game :D

Edit: Dude the all these parameters in coalesced..... I'm gonna make this game my bitch

You're welcome, let me know if I can help you with anything else, the more people we have working on modding the game the better. Going to try my best to see if I can mod the bosses into the PC version with a proper character select without sacrificing any of the regulars.
