Everyone has their own opinions and taste in games, I couldn't disagree more about Borderlands being overrated mind, BL2 was my game of the year for 2012 without a doubt. But it's not for everyone.
If Borderlands did not have co-op, I would never touch it.
But Co op is a huge part of borderlands.
first of all if it was just ign giving it a bad score id have gone and picked up my pre order because sometimes they are full of shit for example giving sfxt 9/10 and then giving kof13 7/10 wtf? giving every cod game 9/10 every year even though those games are fucking awful but dude it was every gaming website that panned it! its kinda hard to argue.
The zombie alien thing was IMO thus far one of the better parts of the game, you are completely stripped of gear and have no way to defend yourself and through out that level those things literally are walking all around you and in many cases walk right up behind you and your only option is you have to be stealthy and still. It was good tension building moment in the game. The rest of the game (of what i have played) wasn't as good though, it is a fun lil shooter game and your right the AI is outright obnoxious, your squadmates mostly, they either do nothing at all or just get in your way mostly.
"Oh you wanna be careful and move in slowly so nobody spots you? You lined up a decent shot on a couple of guys? OK THEN, I'll just run out right on ahead and shoot the shit out of nothing, completely giving you away and ruining fucking everything"
maaaaan borderlands is the shit yo!, and i plan on getting no.2. Gearbox makes great games, honestly any games that changes developers that much is gonna suck ass regardless of who makes it. Same thing happened to Duke Nukem forever.
