New to the site but this jawn is dead on - I used to confuse myself trying to figure out what people meant by certain things and came to a similar conclusion OP.

And I say "YOLO" when I do my XRay lol. Now I must stop.

Can someone please think of an appropriate one for "broken"?

I tried to think of something clever, but am currently hung over and lacking creativity

@Rickyraws

Spacing - when you dash back so a character's ji2 will whiff and you use your b22 advancing string to punish them.

Fuzzy guarding - going from blocking low to high quickly to block a low to overhead string or vice versa. Those who can not do this often use the terms - unblockable, broken, Quan Chi (see below)

Unblockable - less commonly referred to as "hard-to-blockable", something that is fuzzy guardable but you can't do it

Broken - something that players say when they lose to a character with better options than said player's character.

Quan Chi - @STB Shujinkydink

Hard-to-blockable - an overhead/low string or set up that is impossible to block by people who don't want to put in the work

Hunter Predator - unblockable and broken. His mine setups are better than Quan Chi's hard-to-blockable. You can't even space him because he has good forward advancing moves such as b22. Hell, even fuzzy guarding his shit seems impossible

Butthurt: When you constantly complain about a character being buffed due to a player better than you that (insert bill of goods character here) is one of the worst characters in the game and you resort to going to a character with an outclassed variation. This also can trigger said person to upplay said character to ridiculous levels all the way until the next game regardless of future patches.

Fake Matchup cop: When you enforce matchups on the forums and swear by them, but when they go to a regional, they get bodied. Fake matchup cops can be prone to high levels of salt. Proceed with caution as they are prone to giving out false information time to time.

The TL: DR Onine warrior: A person on the forums that says they have tech and all that is listed on the OP is “worst>moderate>best.”

Pseudo-unblockable: When a community can’t agree on whether the character needs buffs or not, and other character communities call them out on it. Note. This ONLY applies to top 10 characters or better.

Rekkas: When your character needs buffs but is already top 3 to begin with.

Slippery Salts: When dropping combos and missing inputs results the accidental upplaying of a mid tier character.

Originator: A person who innovated a low learning curve character aka a braindead character.

Shoryuken prison: When you’re playing Diablo 3 instead of Mortal Kombat X.

"Outfootsies everything for free"

Umbrella term for any move with more reach than sweep range and has a hit level that's anything other than high. Term is also persistently used when jumping the gun on the viability of a Shaolin archer.

"Unviable string":

Good utility, frames on block and recovery, dismissed because it starts high.

"I have no options against this string it has absolutely no weaknesses"

Probably starts high.

Lol, this is awesome.

I will add some more:

"X Character has some good tools":
Used to describe a character which will be agreed by the entire community to be bottom tier within 5 months.

"Level up":
A phrase used by players of the highest or broken tiers in order to placate their opponents and prolong their winnings.

"Zoning"
Refers to situations in NRS games where one particular player is fullscreen away and unable to move without dying.

"Rushdown fools"
People who would like to be able to move a bit in neutral without dying

"Jumping the gun":
Being honest and admitting your character might be broke.

"Let it rock":
Phrase used by players who mainly play other games and pretend they play MKX, or by the "level up" group of top/broken tier players

"One more patch":
Used by the "Let it rock" people after patching is over.

"Nerfed to the Ground"
Slightly normalized

"Unwinnable matchup":
7-3

"7-3":
A 6-4 matchup

"Hard matchup":
A 5-5.

"European Major":
A kind of government assistance given to Foxy Grampa's bank account.

Pot Bonus
Sonic Fox's lunch/milk money

"Like plus 50 on block"
+4 on block

"Let's do this offline/come see me offline"
Phrase used to buy time to learn a matchup

Might just have to add all of these in the revised Oxford edition. They are shockingly accurate.
