Honetsly, if they keep the iconic core characters like Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile-(any reptilian being) , Ermac, Raiden, Shao Kahn, Noob Saibot, Mileena-(any clone), Baraka-(any Tarkatan), Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Goro, Sheeva and Liu Kang-(any resurrected/zombie form), Sektor and Cyrax then the game will survive and do well.

All the other characters like Jax, Sonya, Cage, Nightwolf, Kitana are all expendable really.

That's another example of how differently MK is seen by different people.

On another note, I find it very characteristic of MK 'verse that people ITT speak of characters who got their head ripped off like "maaaybe he'll in, I give 50%"

Cage and Kitana ain't expendable. they are much more iconic that Quan, Sheeva, Noob, Ermac, Baraka etc.

You do know that MK9 was the most successful MK ever, right? why? because of all the CLASSIC fuckin' stuff it included.

Said it before, and gonna say it again: Bring 1000 new faces, but keep a good and satisfying amount of Iconic characters.

And no. Jarek, Kobra, Mavado, Hotaru, Havik and all these people are not iconic.

My point is that "iconic"is something built through the years, by the cultural impact. Not of a person's exclusive view. Favorite Characters being killed by game/ comic/ fiction creators is a way to enhance the drama, not get rid off.
In those terms, even if they kill Kitana every single day, she'll always be Iconic. On the the other hand, Sheeva won't be.

I'll accept the new cast as long as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Noob Saibot, Ermac, Baraka, Shang Tsung, Raiden, Cyrax, Sektor and mileena are in the classic lineup.
Every other classic character can get the boot, or rebooted into a new hybrid.

Being "iconic" has nothing to do with getting into the new game. MK9 was built on such "all-stars" premise, yes, but it doesn't mean MK10 will, or have to, be the same.

For that matter, killing off classic characters doesn't mean they aren't considered important, it's exactly the opposite: you cannot deliver impact to audience by killing somebody they don't care about.

P.S Hurr durr Ferra-Torr is one of the new hybrid replacement characters. I never stated at any point or in any comment that the new hybrid characters are iconic. I guess you suffer from selective reading. BTW, a new hybrid character cannot be iconic. Hurr durr durr.

It doesnt matter what you want, Ed said the cast will be mostly new, what you want is irrelevant.

Um, no, its not irrelevant. If enough people would rather the old cast and end up not buying the game because of it, Boon will have made a mistake. There's nothing wrong with customers voicing their opinion on what they want in a product, and customer feedback is rarely irrelevant.
