Abandoning the "Sony Fanboy" for Killer Instinct

KI does look fun, but considering that Xbox generally does not come out with exclusives that interest me, I usually buy Playstations. Right now though, I personally have no reason to buy either system. No game that is out is a must-buy.

I am not a fanboy of either. I own both the 360 and PS3. Hell, I literally bought my 360 JUST to play MVC3 with a friend who lives out of town, because its the only console he had. I'll buy whatever will provide me with entertainment.

To whom it may concern. All of you who have bought an Xbox One for the sake of getting Killer Instinct. Good for you, its your money I'm not about to tell you how to spend it. I just hope you're all getting your money's worth out of the experience. As for me there isn't a single, solitary, notable, bullet point, that would captivate me enough to get an Xbox One right now. Especially since it has the whole " 500$ Brick Status". And on top of that it doesn't have any games that I want. So while you guys go hard in KI. I'll be enjoying the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear Xrd once they hit shelves. Also Knack and Resogun has been doing a pretty good job at holding my attention. Also dat warframe.

But a serious question to all of the Xbox One owners. What games are you fancying at the moment?

I feel you here i returned my ps4,and always been loyal to sony and now im on the xbone holiday hunt lol.No more ps for me.

My system at heart has been the Sony Playstation ever since walking up the stairs and looking down at my original PS1 when I was a kid. Just appreciating the fact that... "there it is, and it's mine".









Then Killer Instinct was announced and loyalty has gone out the door. I don't have one yet, but my Sony Fanboyness (yes, I know that's not a word) has said "Fuck it. Killer Instinct."

My sony, microsoft, nintendo inner fanboy still tells me to buy a PS4. Buying Xbox One just for KI is totally not worth it. I bought a Wii just for Smash and now that I'm bored of Smash it's collecting dust.

I'm not really the type to care about graphics, but Xrd models look amazing. I was trying to find someone who could explain how the pulled it off and couldn't. There was a thread on a 3D game dev forum where someone else had asked and it took a forum of 3D devs 3 PAGES to determine they were actually 3D models and not 2D sprites. looool

It sucks that Japan isn't releasing fighters on Xbox, but maybe they will again now that we are beginning a new gen. I really hope fighting games start considering PC the main platform so everyone wins though. A lot of the problems with fighting games could be addressed if they were neither XB or PS.

I just hope both consoles are lagless offline.

Xrd looks sick yeah, but it has a flare to it visually that is just unmatched. Can't wait to see how hype it'll make combos ect. As for the games being on a PC middle ground. And I wonder if it will start a trend.

On PC, the big two (Microsoft / Sony) wouldn't have sheep to corral. I mean we have Xbots screaming about the One's superiority (Shout outs to Lex Luthor) and Sony Ponies fluttering over the PSN rainbow like its 1999. Point is right now the PS4 isn't a behemoth, its not even a home run hitting system. If we're being outright honest its the standard boost in power, specs, functionality, and applications we've come to expect with the given amount technological advances since the launch of the previous generation. Only difference is, Microsoft has pissed more people off than Miley Cyrus' "twerking" videos. Couple that with how they handled the populous coming at them with the heat. The WiiU has been dead on arrival. Also their marketing plan is more of the "Hara-Kiri" style than trying to sell you something. The trying to sell you something method is a PROVEN METHOD of success. But Nintendo... what are you doing? And no that isn't to shit on the Wii (How'd I ramble here?) but its just being handled wrong. Its like having a good sports team but a horrendous coach.

Back to the Xbone and the PS4.

The consoles are practically identical. Its just Microsoft pissed people off and became masters of the side-step. Also the xbox one technically had a 100% failure rate... that right there is a LolNope. But the only reason why the PS4 has such a backing. Is because they haven't pissed anyone off yet. And since I buy on a more "moral" scale. I've got the QuadBox.. I mean PS4. But as it stands right now, enjoy your Xbox Ones folks.

Oh yeah somewhere there's supposed to be an "Xbox One sucks / Shots fired / PS4Lyfe" in this post. Even though there's in it someone will put words in my mouth.

It really doesn't matter what system you buy. They both lead to the one world government in the book of Revelation...so ya. True logic says if your that worried about it then don't get either console. Also get rid of your cell phone and internet access too. They all lead to the same place.

I agree to an extent--Xbox also has some good exclusives, it just happens that my gaming tastes prefer the Playstation ones more in recent years. (though I can understand why someone with different tastes may find Xbox exclusives equal to Playstations) However, it doesn't change the fact that people making the statement about KI costing $500 is silly. No one is saying that about any other game--why? Because it's not an exclusive that is highly anticipated and desired. Look at how this sounds: I'm mad that I paid $460 for Killzone.

I'm not actually mad about purchasing a PS4 for Killzone, and there will be other games on Playstation that will certainly make it worth while. Either console you buy, you're going to have access to 90% of the games released for next-gen. This $500 KI argument is like saying, I'm going on a trip, it's finally time I buy a new car, and someone responding: you're spending $20,000 to go on a road trip? As if the car isn't useful after the road trip, silly statement.

Not really, insane soul searching to justify a purchase. A majority wouldn't have bought an Xbox One if it wasn't for Killer Instinct.

I'm considering it, I've been walking around with Cinders theme in my head. I can see me buying one, Cinder gets announced at a later date and they balls it up and do a dubstep version of his song.

And also, since only exclusives are good, I guess it's a good thing that KI was exclusive -- since after you buy an XB1 none of the multi-system games will be good. And all of the other XB1 exclusives will also suck. So basically the moral of the story is, only Playstation exclusives classify as "good games". Right?

See for me it's not fanboyness as I've owned both Microsoft and Sony consoles. I think there's a lot of people that fit into my demographic in that they :

1. Don't have the cash to buy BOTH consoles.

2. Don't trust Microsoft and the iteration of the Xbone based on all the pre-launch / development shadiness.

3. Want to play KI, but again would rather buy a PS4.

For all the systems I've bought, none of them had more than 1-2 day-one launch games I was interested in. This would include PS4. But the point is, what major system just releases the launch games, stops there and says "that's it" and then never releases anything else for the life of the system?

Saying you're going to wait is fine -- I just find it asinine when people say that if you bought an Xbox One and also bought KI that you "spent 500 bucks on KI" as if you aren't intending to play anything else as long as you own the system.

All I said is that Sony is more likely to have the superior exclusives, judging from last gen consoles.
KI is the only game that appeals to my personal taste, that's why I don't think is worth $500.
