Abandoning the "Sony Fanboy" for Killer Instinct

I'm doing both, but im not in a rush for either console atm. I just hope someone makes a converter for PS4 pads to work on xbox one.

uhh.. no. It may have been that way on xbox 360 with call of duty/activision clearly preferring microsofts money, halo, and the early gears games, but not anymore. The difference in connection for playing them online on next gen is basically nonexistent, and no one cares about the recent shitty gears, halo, and call of duty titles. There will be a million more shooters out for next gen, possibly even amazing exclusives for ps4, so your point is invalid.

(ignored the fighters thing because thats simply not true, and killer instinct is the only game xbox has over playstation right now)

Let me start off by saying I have NO allegiance to either system.

I dont know if you guys have noticed, but a LOT of big names in the FGC have bought XB1 just to play KI. Not just NRS players, but Capcom and Namco as well. If KI does turn out to be a great competitive game, I could definitely see the XB1 being console of choice for the first few years. Do you seriously think gamers, who are generally strapped for cash, are going to buy 2 systems in 1 year?

Predicting it now...If Killer Instinct turns out to be a hit, the FGC will go to XB1 for at least 2 years.

I never understood the whole "Fanboy" mentality. I've always owned pretty much all the consoles, regardless of how long it took me to SAVE to buy them.

Fanboys always miss out on phenomenal exclusives. Think about it. I'll be 37 (see: Dinosaur) next May, and the NES came out when I was 8. The NES was the ONLY time I ever owned an exclusive system (because at that time, the Master system simply didn't have anything I really wanted to play).

That said, had I been a fanboy of any one console or company:

SNES/Genesis Era:
Mario or Sonic or Metroid? Final Fantasy or Phantasy Star? Killer Instinct or Eternal Champions? WHY CHOOSE? Simply saving for 3-4 months and I bought both of them.

N64/PS1/Saturn Era:
Ocarina of Time or Final Fantasy 7 or Dragon Force? Really? Is it necessary to even try to determine how GOOD these games are and why each game justifies the system's purchase?

Gamecube/PS2/Xbox/Dreamcast Era:
More Zelda/Mario/Metroid, Amazing PS2 exclusives, Xbox Live, and Sega's final system which was simply the best system of that era for fighters. Again, no brainer: save money and buy each one over time.

360/PS3 Era AND XB1/PS4 Era
At this point it should be clear that the systems are about exclusives. Each console has strengths and weaknesses, and each console will get all the mainstay games. The only reason to question which one to get FIRST is to determine which system will have more exclusive games that you will play right away. Once you determine that, then you can purchase your first system, then begin saving for your other one.

Personally, I'm not gonna be forced to choose between Gears and Uncharted. You guys fight over which system is "better"...I'll just play ALL the games while you're busy arguing on the internet.

If a converter is released that allows me to use my Xbox 360 MadCatz TE, then I'll be getting an Xbox One. I'm not buying a whole new stick. I refuse to play fighters on pad.

I think there are some differences between consoles enough so that there are gamers out there with specific interests who will prefer one console over another. I will only speak of the PS3/360 generation here as I don't know enough about PS4 and Xboxone yet, but as someone who originally owned a 360 who then traded it in to get a PS3 to play NHL with friends I can speak to both consoles. I believe the 360 is vastly superior to PS3 when it comes to multiplayer games. The fact is PS3 does not have a party system (which is pretty retarded if you ask me) and that makes a huge difference. In addition I feel in general xbox live is a lot less laggy than PS3online. This may indeed be attributed to the fact that PS3 comes with wireless by default and xbox doesn't thus most xbox's are connected via a wire, regardless lag is lag and there is less on xbox live. In addition to the online experience most cross platform games are ports that originate from the 360 and as such run better on the 360 (injustice for example).

On the PS3 side of things most of the single player console exclusive titles are amazing and look great compared to the 360. Similarly the PS3 comes with a bluray player giving an additional perk that you don't have with the 360.

So to conclude I feel if you are someone whose primary interest is multiplayer games the xbox360 was the console for you. If you are someone who really enjoys single player games and movies PS3 was the console for you. And as such and because the interests are so much different from one another it's easy to see why there may be varying groups of people who are partial to one or the other.

You should get whichever system has the games you want to play. For me, its the Xbone because of KI. No other titles at the moment peak my interest for either system. I only play fighting games on console so yea. I highly doubt MK, SF, and other titles will be exclusive to one console this gen, so I can't go wrong.

Exactly my point. The pad means nothing when it comes down to it. KI will sway the majority of fighting gamers to XB1.

So let me get this straight, you're telling this guy he is wrong and your bullet proof reasoning for this is:

Most definitely opinion--I'll provide my experience, not opinion, below

Opinion, but sales numbers pretty much make your opinion look silly and uniformed

Wow, just wow. His point is invalid because you said words that are your opinion and you have no evidence, insider information, absolutely anything that says any of it is true.

5) Fighting games

So you proof is that Xbox only has one fighting game? PS4 only has a port of a game that came out last year, so this is superior? Doesn't make sense.

Now onto that subject of networks being equal. I purchased Battlefield 4 at launch for PS4. It was the first multiplayer game/multi-plat game that I've purchased on a Sony platform in over 6 years. I only use my PS3 for exclusives and was eager to give the PS4 a crack at becoming my main console rather than the exclusive machine for this next gen.

Pop in BF4, Playstation Network is down. Sigh, this feels familiar. Wait until the next day, go in to play multiplayer.....can't join match, can't join match. Ok, then, I'll play single player--play for an hour, shut off as I have to work the next day. After work the following day, I want to get back to the campaign. Load up the game, crash. Reboot, load up the game to try again, my single player save was corrupted. Try multiplayer one last time, nothing, can't join a match.

Share story, PS fanboys claim it's not Sony's fault, PSN is fine, I'm lying, blah blah blah

Week later, I pick up my Xbox One. I get Battlefield because I want to try everything out. Bring it home at midnight on launch night. Surprise, surprise, Xbox Live is NOT down. Later on that night an hour or so after launch, I go to multiplayer, in BF, load up a game, again shockingly <sarcasm>, I was connected to a match in about 10 seconds--a fully loaded conquest match with over 60 players. With that said, I thought the graphics on the PS4 version of the game looked better--they just seemed to "pop" a bit more. The Xbox One's graphics were really good, but the PS4 version just has a slight edge there.

I have no alliance with consoles. They are electronic devices sold to me by multi-billion dollar companies that I don't care about. I am not hoping one console is better than another, I own nearly every console made in the last 20 years. I don't care who wins this pretend console war. With this said, Playstation supports unique games that I'm a fan of, they have a solid exclusives library for each of their systems. However, their network should not be compared to XBL--they are not on the same levels. I await the day when I'm not totally gunshy of PSN being a mess.

The fact that Sony fans tell me I'm lying and that PSN is perfect and up to par with XBL is what I think is the very reason it's not. All Sony fans do is reinforce this behavior--if XBL was down on launch night? LOL Xbox fans would have been going bananas. PSN is down, Sony fans don't say a word because they don't want to give up ground in this silly ass pretend war they are fighting for a multi-billion dollar company. I seriously don't understand. If they would stop doing that, acknowledge the gap that exists and demand it be closed, maybe Sony would prioritize making PSN better, but the Sony Nation isn't going to do that it would seem.

In the end, I don't care at all--PSN being down is meaningless to me because I'll just pick up the game on another platform. Again, I don't care who is better or why, I just go where it makes the most sense at that time. And for multiplayer games, last gen was 360 and this gen, after this Battlefield fiasco, I'll be staying with XBL for multiplayer games.

you claim all of my so called "evidence" is opinion, yet all of your information is based on one dumb experience lol, you need to stop. There is also blatant xbox superiority comments throughout your post so thats pretty hilarious you tried to play the whole "im not biased" card.

I can picture you looking exactly like my avatar as you wrote that cringeworthy post.
