Not anymore because I'm here.

When you play a character, you have to recognize your own tendency to downplay the character when you struggle because it can't possibly be that your opponent is better, right?

When you don't play a character, you have to recognize your own tendency to up-play the character whenever you struggle against him/her for the same reason.

If you're always winning, you need to find players who can buck that trend to put things into focus for you. Adversity breeds clarity.

Finally, come here and listen to what others are saying. Once you get through the downplaying, up-playing, trolling, and profiling - and actually start to play games with those you've been discussing balance with, you start to get a clearer picture of the matchups through the metas.

With that said, Tremor, Quan Chi, and Jax players still rule and Alien and Kung Jin players still suck - but nothing is going to change my mind on that.

If they pick Lackey: theyre just going to mash EX uppercut into a hilariously non optimized combo. Full screen they do desperation charges all day because they have no patience. Will go back to their top tier character after first 2 loses

If they pick Ruthless: they will literally doing nothing besides B121xx png F2 on block or hit no matter what and theres a 50% chance they kill themselves with a pain n gain trying to flowchart you. Will attempt to do the one bar ex low toss combo the first time they open you up and then drop it. Will also switch back to their other top tier after 2 loses.

If they pick Vicious: no one picks Vicious lol

I love this game for its diversity and I main some scrubby characters like kano and jacqui but these are my thoughts on a few.
Erron black outlaw or gunslinger: sanic fawk wannabe
Milerna: okay where's the ex roll ?
Scorpion: vortex 4 days
Kotal kahn: they are going to mash down 1 until it connects and then command grab me.
Kenshi: blind Keanu reeves
Kang ff: low kick into windmill and Dragon roar. Bathes in soy sauce
Quan: remembers he's vortex in sorcerer and gets salty after
On the real though, I hate Kung jin/shinnok/leathetface/Jason- brain ded damage and ridiculous frames. Oh and advancing mids and hard to punish teles and don't forget the mix.
All in all, it makes the game what it is and that's fine. I just play who I have fun with and that's all its about imo

I did hear a guy on mic say he thought i was one of "those guys that only picks female characters" to a friend because of who I was using. He was right though. I pretty much am that guy.

I offhandedly get a bit frustrated sometimes depending on character choice, mostly (in any game) if I can tell I'm fundamentally better gtav or outplaying my opponent but they beat me with something overpowered their character has that makes it to where them needing knowledge or being "good" isn't a requirement. I do remind myself much to my annoyance that I made my choice and could easily use the same character but I don't and that my opponent may just have chosen the character for more than just ease of use reasons.

For instance me. I play scorpion and Tanya. I've player scorpion since MK1 and subbed Tanya in a few games starting in 4. I catch a lot of hate for these characters specifically Tanya.
The other day I played some dude with scorpion and he started mouthing off to me about not taking scorpion players seriously and all I do is (x) with the character and when I switched to Tanya out of boredom he tried to say I couldn't do her TP combo in the corner when in fact can but choose not to in certain connections for obvious reasons. I venture he was mad because he was losing or just ignorant. So I remind myself of my position in characters because I don't wanna be "that guy" and a hypocrite.

I was on board until the end.

Sub Zero: *Starts Match* D4 ice clone. When clone goes away do d4 ice clone again. Throw in random slides and b2's and hope opponent doesn't block.
Scorpion: After a blocked f2 do d4. After a blocked d4, do f2. If they keep blocking, throw in a random teleport or do f2 slide.
Ermac: Thinks their d1 and d3 is plus 20 on block. After a blocked d1 or d3 do a 50/50 and hope you guess right.
Reptile: Thinks everything is plus on block
Takeda/Kung Jin: when in doubt, NJP. If they block it, NJP again.
Mileena: Thinks d1 is plus 20 on block. When in doubt, Roll.
Predator: Thinks Low Laser and NJP is plus 20 on block
Kitana: run away and throw fans. When opponent gets anywhere near you do the fan uppercut move.
Erron Black: Picks character because of sonic fox
Alien: Thinks when they use this character they get an automatic win.
Johnny: Obviously doesn't know that I am THE Johnny Cage of Xbox.

Lui kang players are self centered and narcissistic irl.
