Does anyone have any recs on resources where a noob could find some helpful info on how to play this game?? I've been following the announcement vids and falling in love with this game as I see more and more of it.

I just played the demo last night and after going through the tutorial and playing a few hours I still had no idea what most of the mechanics even did!

I'm also assuming this is more of a game for sticks, rather than a hitbox, ya?

I'm just a KoF noob but I feel like having buttons for everything especially jump would fit right in with the movement in the game.

http://dreamcancel.com/ seems to be the KoF hotspot. Other than that I guess you're best bet might be the shoryuken.com forums.

AtlusUSA and KingsofCO on twitch have match footage.

There's a KoF tutorial for one of the older games but it teaches basics and those pretty much carry over.

@SZSR linked the tutorial I was talking about.

Ikari Warriors, Team Another World, Final Boss and we're done by the game's date of release.

This has been a perfect example of how to build hype with videos, even if you show ALL characters in playable demos. And they haven't been pushing DLC costumes/content down our throats a month before release.

I liked 2002, but 98 I LOVED. Andy and Chang were my mainstays on teams. Yamazaki, Ryo, Clark and Chin were rotated as the match up dictated.

In response to LI Joe tweeting his early copy Jebailey said he played against someone in California and it was good. Keep in mind there's a small fraction of players compared to once it releases. But this gives me hope. Should check other players twitters and see if they say anything.

That's good news and good in general to hear about how it plays online. The bad news for me is I have to figure out what to do about the brick I used to call my PS4 before I can get into it.

At least I got to dink around with the demo for awhile.

How'd you brick it? I figured there were ways to ensure that doesn't happen nowadays.

I was just playing and everything was fine. Then it was black with no warning. If you are supposed to take precautions, then I didn't do any of that.

I figured it got sick of watching me lose and was like "I can't be a part of this anymore" and check itself out. Disc is still inside and I got to figure out if I have a screwdriver that will fit the manual eject screw anywhere.

I got the thing like 2.5 months ago or so and I just dropped lots of coin on a move. I'm pretty unhappy about it because I'm just going to have to wait awhile before doing anything to fix the situation. I bought it because of the whole MKX PC situation and liking the game too much to not get current, and because KOF XIV is on its way. Also bought Xrd Rev and haven't gotten to play it much, so I guess that is on hold too.

On the plus side I did manage to find someone on PC last night to kick me around for a little while and the connection actually felt pretty good (which is a first but I've got a better setup at the new digs) despite a few syncing hiccups. If there is any truth to the PC rumors flying about then that might be a solution to my MKX problem. It won't help me with KOF XIV though, and this Tekken 7 thing seems an awful long way out to be thinking anything about.

Maybe I should just up and buy SFV and BlazBlue and forget about the rest. I don't think I can do that though...

Sooo it just turned on again. Not sure what to do with that. I let it cool down before. Read some stuff about moving it around and tapping it. That doesn't seem right. Going to get my disc back and maybe play a DL game for a bit. Maybe KOF is back on for me??

Netcode Alert!!! This guy doesn't have it but said that others have said online won't work until the 26th. This contradicts what Jebailey said. Figured it might be online right now then off again.

SFV is a good gameplay wise but it has some other issues surrounding it. Just an FYI if you like it get it. I'm sure Capcom will fix most of it and improve the gameplay in a year or two. Add me on PSN if you get BB. I stopped playing a long time ago but eventually I'm going to get back in to it. Maybe a little bit right now and ramp up once the new one gets a release date.

I'd check all the wires and everything. Maybe do some searching online (even if you already did. Maybe a post went up somewhere) and hit up PSN support.

My SF days were back with the original SF2 up to Alpha 3. Never really could get into SF4, but SF5 has some strong appeal to it for me. I plan on snagging it on PC when the sale and paycheck stars align. The PS4 version is a bit worrisome from what I'm seeing on the load times. I played a bunch of VF5 and the load times wore me out sometimes. Crossplay being what it is it may only be avoidable to a small extent, but I play CPU a lot historically.

I really love BB artistically and I have the original BB game on PC and 360 but that's way behind and I don't understand the game at all.

I wish it was easier to pick up and play a lot of fighters, but it's easier to buy them all than to play them all. I don't know what it is about MKX, but it's had my undivided since Christmas. I was playing a lot KOF XIII right before that and I've liked the KOF demo, so I'm hoping KOFXIV will be something new to get into right at the start (provided the PS4 keeps trooping along).

Won't be long now, and I really want to get a hold of this MuiMui character.

You and me both pal. Mui Mui, is the main character I wanna use. I saw her trailer with Kukri early on and her Rekkas and supers looked insane. So much potential there. I can't wait to start using her and learning her frames.

Some guy at Gamestop told me it was going to be end of September a while back. I thought it got pushed but sounds like some people are already playing it. You just made this week longer in a good way.

I feel like it won't be bad but it won't be great. Like the same thing I heard about Xrd. It's decent enough for good/close connections but it isn't like KI or Skullgirls play across oceans tier.
