So, some new tech.

Escrima MB Scattershot.

If you tack MB scattershot on the end of a string while an opponent is crouching, You get hella advantage frames. It sets up Nightwings very hard to utilize Crossup J2 perfectly, but it also sets you up for a really deep non cross up j3. It's impossible to know which one is coming. You have to make a guess. Both of them lead to 30% +. It's a gimmick tho. The opponent can stand block the scatterbomb ex if they see it coming, some can even poke you out.

33~scatterbomb gives you good spacing for both setups and makes it hard for the opponent to poke out. You can also turn it into a mixup by doing 33~4~low. or 33~scatterbomb.

B1 is a good starter to do this off of as well because if they stand block to avoid the incoming jump pressure, they will be susceptible to the low over and over again into a hard knockdown.

All of these options are guaranteed after any 112 in escrima. 112 33 is a frame trap and is guaranteed.

The opponent can backdash the crossup j2, but cannot backdash the ji3 if they attempt it, you get a full combo :)

If this sounds hella confusing I can make a video of it tonight.

As I said, it's a gimmick, but it does give him some pretty nasty pressure/jump mixups in escrima.

I'm confused. 33~4~low or 33~ scatterbomb is not a mix-up. The set-up requires them to be crouching anyway so why would they get hit by a low before they even see the scatterbomb? Maybe after the scatterbomb you can sweep, b2, or jump attack. If they hold back after blocking scatter bomb then you lose the jump cross-up.

Because in order for them to get into the situation, they have to be crouching. So if they stand to avoid the scatterbomb setup, they will have to block the pound or get hit by it.

If you do it correctly, you will have enough advantage to jump in for the cross up. If they hold back you will still get at the very worst a deep 2 block string.

As I said, it's gimmicky as hell lol.

It's an ex scatterbomb not a regular one.

I see what you mean now but it's not hard to stand block on reaction to mb scatterbombs if they wanted to get out that badly. I never got the j2 to cross-up when my opponent stand blocked. I'l take your word for it that it works though.

I should do a video. B1~Scatterbomb may be the best.

The biggest problem with it is that if they know it's coming they can poke between the first spark and the rest of the meterburn. Yes, that's how shit it is. There shouldn't be a whole on this basically useless special anyways. colt Is the gap in meterburn scattershots intentional? If it is I REALLY cannot see the purpose of the move.

Round starter. That's it for me. Countless first hits cause of it now and I love it. Then whenever they start catching on, b2.
I'm sure a video would help explain it more though. Is it an easy fuzzy guard though? Could they just hold back if they're waiting for the scatterbomb and if they see/hear the staff into ground pound, go low?

I was trying it with b1 xx scatterbomb and it seems better to me just because everything happens faster. Still, it's not hard to switch to stand block on reaction to the scatterbomb animation. I had my friend do it a bunch times alternating between b13 and b1xx scatterbomb and I never got caught crouching in the mb scatterbomb. You have a lot of time to switch your block before it jails.

I hate how any matchup becomes unfavorable or 5-5 at best on stages like watchtower.. i believe this is what will in the end not make him tourny viable.. will probably drop for zod if he pans out

Give it time, either they will patch some interactibles to make them fair or stages will get banned.

So I need someone to give me all the information i need on characters.. and how to fight... I am planning to go to EVO and represent NightWing all the way.. give me the scoop on how i should all characters..

btw guys, using 33 ground spark or f213 ground spark.. cancel or letting go is really good... letting go and if it hits, b2 into trait staff spin mb/or not and back to escrima.. or ground shock.. if its blocked you can easily back dash or mb b3 or cancel b2 into mb f3 for 2 bars of meter...start using it fellas i am seriously going to abuse the hell out of it in tournaments..

I was just talking to the boys in skype yesterday about ground spark cancels and how I thought i was the only one that used them lol. They are an excellent mind game.

Truth, justice and the American way.
I'll be attending EVO as well. It will be my first major. Excited to see where I stand in the community. Injustice is the first fighting game that I've taken competitively. I am very interested in finding the outcome of my hours in training.

Also, myself and a few other heads will be attending the upcoming WNF. I'm looking forward to meeting the SoCal Injustice community and getting in some matches both competitive and casual.

Best of luck! Beat them with your Dick for all of us.

Hey, guys? So I was at a Gamestop and I stumbled across people playing Injustice. I was confused since it had the full roster because I'm used to Gamestop games being demos. I decided to play a match and I realized that the MB Ground Smash didn't launch your opponent in the air like it usually does. I think it had the same effect as d3. I was actually nervous that NRS released a patch during the few days I stopped playing. Luckily I found out that wasn't true. I don't remember Nightwing ever having his MB Ground Pound buffed. Was it weaker at initial launch? I didn't get the game until about a week after and I was still a scrub so I hardly used MB Ground Pound.

It was weaker pre-launch.

His main Staff Launcher was MB Staff Spin. If you go back and play it you should notice it Wall Bouncing.

You sure you didn't mistake Ground Spark with Ground Blast?
The patches made no changes to NW.

If you confirm that f213 hits, why wouldn't you just continue the combo? f213>escrima fury>j3>f2>escrima fury>j3>wingdigs is 36% meterless! If you mb the escrima fury, you get 41% and both combos have great corner carry. To forgo that much damage for a potential mixup.....I just don't see the benefit. Sorry, not trying to sound ...dickish, just trying to understand why to use this over full combo.

Because he's talking about block strings.

Also, ending any Escrima combo in wingdings outside of the corner is wrong. Whenever possible - end your combos in either flip kick or cancel into staff spin and then cancel back out again.

Allowing your opponent to tech roll into neutral game for 3-5% more damage is more often than not, the wrong answer.
