Two months ago, NPD released news that Injustice: Gods Among Us was the United States' best selling videogame software title during it's first month after release (April 2013). This week, NPD has again reported that Injustice was the #1 most popular title in the month of May. This makes two straight months that IGAU has reigned at the top of the sales charts.
VGChartz sales estimates have worldwide game sales of Injustice at around 1 million units to date (rough approximation). This is good news for fans of the game, and adds further fuel to NetherRealm's comments that the sales will likely justify a sequel sometime down the road.
With strong tournament viewership, both at majors and on a weekly basis, I:GAU is making its case for becoming a lasting fighting game community franchise.
