Ceo Pre Registration Numbers are on Life Support for MK and Evo #s look terrible

MK9 isn't being played anymore because of its glitches and dominating characters, that is all. Instead of bashing those who left the game, you should be praising them for sticking with it as long as they did. I dont see the point in just giving money away just to pretend that a scene is still full of life when it isn't. That's like a person purchasing a ticket to a concert when he's not interested in seeing the person performing.

NRS was going to do one last patch, but Warner Brothers refused to provide the resources. From what I have heard, the changes would have been terrible, so I am happy they never came to be.

Also, who are these fools comparing MvC2 and TTT to MK? These two games have infinitely more depth than MK.

The issue is, at least with me, is if they didn't like it or were tired of it then why did they stick with it for two years then drop it like a bad habit?
Because it was the only game that they could tolerate playing, or some other reason.

mvc2 was still broken, dnt even try to lie about that. every time I hear ppl mention that game I hear "everyone used sentinel, magneto, and storm". That doesn't sound in depth to me at all. I even watched some videos to make sure, and it was true.

But still, if you're not gaining any enjoyment out of something, why play it at all?
Go find another game or do something non-gaming related. <.<
Could be they are lemmings following the crowd. Who fucking knows right?

It sucks. Really MK and Injustice compliment each other very well. I took a break from MK when Injustice was released but Injustice just didn't scratch the itch. I've been playing MK more than Injustice lately and it still feels fresh and fun to me.

Its possibly because alot of the top players feel they've accomplished what they wanted with the game. They made their name, got their wins and are afraid to jeopardize their standing by continuing to play. We were seeing this right before Injustice dropped when new names were placing high and even winning tournaments.

Honestly MK9 had a great run, but what really disappoints me is seeing it fizzle before EVO. We wanted another EVO so bad and now we have it and people don't seem to care. For real this community is seriously lacking hype right now. No fueds, no shows/podcasts, just constant whining and bitching on the forums. We needs the hype. At lease going into EVO so MK can go out with a bang.

The bright side is, I think MK10 will be huge and our community will be back in full force for that game.

No one said the game was not broken and unbalanced, but just because the game is broken does not necessarily mean that it cannot have high degrees of depth. The game featured some unique gameplay for its time (i.e., 3 vs. 3, selections of various assists, snap backs, etc.). You cannot simply watch videos to determine the depth for any fighting game. You have to play the game at a high level to understand its intricacies.

either way, that still doesn't change the fact that mk9 has depth as well. It may not be a street fighter, but it is great in its own ways. I already know that mvc2 had more than just broken stuff and glitches, it couldn't have lasted that long with only those things.

I agree. MK9 has crazy depth imo.. a lot more than people want to believe.

Dizzy, MIT, and I been saying this since everyone dropped MK when the Injustice hype began, weeks before it was released. Sad day when the community doesn't listen. It's too late now. gg Scorpion vs DC. MK10 pls
yep we have man, it is the sad truth too. Well at least scorpion is in IGAU :) and mk10 will come out and bring back the love mk deserves and should always gets. Also you keep finding tech only in IGAU lol, maybe you can use that tech to sneak your way into the top 8 of an IGAU major.

Because it was all they had. Now some of them love Injustice and find absolutely no enjoyment in Mk. It is understandable for them not to enter in something they completely hate.

I enjoy both personally, but wont try to force anyone to like what I like

As I have said before I still love MK. My only real training resource for MK is online, which is definitely not the best way to level up and stay sharp. But even that is sort of gone now because all of my friends have moved on to Injustice and either don't play MK anymore or are very rusty at it. But for Injustice I have access to a decent online mode and for the first time ever, an actual offline scene. I am going to do what I can in MK at EVO but it is going to be very hard to prepare.

It pretty much displays who has been playing this game solely for their own enjoyment and love of the community, and who has been playing this game to receive personal acknowledgement. Now that placing in an MK tourney means fuck all, why play it heh? Need to focus all that energy to receive them e-props, gotsta acquire that self esteem from some facet of life heh?

I wonder how much of it has to do with the fact that all our community does is blow each other up/shit on each other all the time?
Do you think the negativity and constant blow-ups over tier placements and tools may make someone less inclined to play against these people in person?

What I mean is...do you think all the vitriol and in-fighting and lack of actual commraderie may have something to do with it?
Plus, some people can't afford to travel. I dunno. I clearly don't know what I'm talking about.

Also, I wonder if burn-out has anything to do with it? You can do something you love until you're blue in the face and eventually need a break.

Dicks with a future
I saw this thread under recent posts and was curious to have a look. I never played MK9, and I am here now by virtue if Injustice. My background really lies down the path of old school fighters, having been on the ST train originally and following along that line ever since, never having had a real brush with any MK.

Unfortunate as it is, games do have limited life cycles. As Rude tilted at, burnout will always play in it and people do grow tired of any game over time. I haven't played ST seriously in ages, even though I loved that game to death. It was going to pass sooner or later, and there's not a huge amount that can be done about that.

That said, I want to point out that the community is not dead. A lot if people may have moved to Injustice as their new game, but that wouldn't have been possible at all if the MK community hadn't been ready to stand up, adopt it and treat it as their own. People in this community were ready and willing to fold in around it and support it wholeheartedly, and for the first couple weeks what I invariably heard was that this community was the place to go to really be a part of Injustice, and so it has been.

I do not underestimate the value of that presence, either. This community and this site have proved and invaluable resource in learning and building up my Injustice skills, and I've found that much of the discussion going on is more intelligent, active and good natured than you would find in other communities. Try finding good resources for playing fighters that are clear, well organized and not buried under mountains of dick waving anywhere else, I dare you - it's not going to be a simple task. The people who complain about this community, I think, have not seen what a bad community actually looks like. There's always going to be a few bad apples, but I've found this community to be disproportionately intelligent and genteel compared to any other I've ever been part of.

You know what that means, in the long run? I never picked up MK9, and it's too late now for me to invest much interest, but you'd better believe after my time here and with Injustice, I'll be back for MK10 - and I will not be alone.

It is sad but not unforseen. I was getting bitched at for calling this site an Injustice site last year after the game was announced and people stopped talking MK even that far back. I was most likely the first person to pre-reg for MK @ EVO because I wanted to go to EVO, I wanted to play MK at EVO and because I wanted to be a part of the special thing that is MK's three-peat.

Yes I play Injustice but MK is my first love. I'd drop Injustice in a heartbeat even for UMK9. Fuck the haters, the whiners and the casuals; all that matters is.......

I'm goin to EVO baybee! Yeah! :joker:
