So i played this guy, he constantly beat me up.
I won't complain about his strategy. (Cough, upball lag frametraps, cough)
That's okay for me and no reason to ragequit.
I take it as parctice to get around stuff like that.

But:
The next match i see "Player 2 half bar"
He had entered the kombat kode for himself.
This kind of condescending generosity i will not accept.
So i ragequitted.

I would of done the same. From what I've seen a good amount of the MK community are cool even if they are good, there is still that small percentage of assholes who think to highly of themselves especially over a game.

My favorite being the ones who refuse a challenge based on your record.

No they are worried about getting DLC out and making more money. Seriously if people wouldn't just eat shit like that up the community could take a stand, refuse to buy the DLC until there are drastic improvements made. One can dream.


Also OP from what some people have told me, if either person uses an alternate costume(or from what I've experienced if you use "Start" to select even the original costumes)the game will desync because of the latest patch.

Yeah I can tell you that full of themselves asses have been around for years and it will never change it doesn't matter what game it is, it's just more noticeable with the advent of online play. I just do what I been doing since the Quake 1 days and just ignore them and move on to another game/server.

But to the Orignal Poster, obviously I feel there is no shame in quitting based on that reason.

No he just was scared to be humiliated and exposed on youtube. He knew he couldn't win even with a handicap. Knowing that made him angry. He mad, he rage quit. Simple as that. IMO he did exactly what that guy wanted him to do: just give up and go play with someone his own skill level.

Truth is beating a noob over and over again isn't all that fun. Because there's simply no challenge whatsoever. So to make it fun, he entered a handicap code. And you know what? I would've probably done the same after a while. And his rage quit would've made me laugh histerically. I would take a screenshot of his rage quit to immortalize the moment and upload it. Then I would PM it to him and gloat. Telling him to stay salty and stay free and that his tears are delicious to me. Why? Because that's what makes online fun!

If I can't gloat and make people rage quit then online is completely useless to me.

i dont see anything wrong with what the kano player did, unless he was constantly spamming upball. if anything it was a chance for you to beat him and then hit no rematch lol.

unfortunately vulcans attitude ruins it for a lot of new players. i know that playing online at others expense like that is great fun, but you certainly arent helping the community grow. also, if you cant have fun without gloating or trolling online there is something wrong with you.

there is not a legit reason to rage quit. press yes or no after the match is over, but dont just give up mid-match.

I hear ya on that one. I've gotten "Threats" on this game already :wow: Just over an hour ago, I barely beat a Kano lag abuser/spammer with Jax and decided not to rematch and just leave the asshole to someone else. Not a minute goes by and he sends me psychotic voice messages claiming that if he knew where I lived he'd beat the shit out of me and kill my pets ofl: As if I have any pets. Called me all sorts of silly names and got infuriated when I wouldn't respond calling me a coward and all sorts of ridiculous things. All of this just because his lag tactic backfired and I wouldn't rematch.There are some psychos out there that can't handle video games like adults, or any situation for that matter. This was an adult by the way, not some pre-pubescent little kid. This is one of the reasons I don't engage in any sort of verbal socialization with online people, unless I REALLY get to know them well beforehand.

EDIT: Oh and to fleshmaster, Don't ever quit, even if it has unbearable lag. If it becomes too unbearable just sit there and let the opponent win. Or jump or move to make it seem like you're trying. After it ends, hit No. Presto. I've done that alot of times when my inputs don't register and I can't even uppercut.

First of all, he didn't quit because he was scared. He quit because the handicap was a huge insult to him, and being a proud player that he is, he doesn't want to deal with this little "favor" that the nublet Kano gave to him. The guy was a douche, and he doesnt deserve to keep playing.

Second "go play with someone your own skill level"? REALLY? I don't really know the skill of Fleshmaster, but I can assure you, with 99.9% degree of certainty, that the Kano that he fought was nothing more than an Upball/Knife spamming retard that thought he was God's gift to MK. Sorry, but that doesn't show that he's on a higher skill level, it shows that he has ZERO skill in this game, and is if anything, on a much lower skill level.

I can say that this stuff can happen, I remember back when I used to e-fed(yeah,yeah I know but I love to write which was the main reason why I used to do it) there was this wack job that used to lurk around the community hubs and start trouble, one of the mods decided to call this guy and ban him from one of the said hubs, this guy ended up finding out the mods real name, posted the mods facebook pictures with his family, his home address, making threats the works.

Luckly the guy didn't act on it, of course if memory served he ended up getting arrested for armed robbery, stealing a car and trying to out run the cops in a snow storm in the dead of night with his headlights off. Now that is just one story but I can cite literally dozens where people gotten peoples address and harrassed them IRL over stupid stuff and you never know when that one certain someone is unstable enough and will actually act on it.

Not saying it will happen but it can.

First of all, he didn't quit because he was scared. He quit because the handicap was a huge insult to him, and being a proud player that he is, he doesn't want to deal with this little "favor" that the nublet Kano gave to him. The guy was a douche, and he doesnt deserve to keep playing.

There's 2 sides to every story. Did he quit to save further embarrassment?, or was he too proud?
There is also the possibility they guy put the code in by accident too (i've done it, no one got offended and quit)

Watched that video and it was hilarious. Dude completely overreacted lol. On the subject of the ragequit, you should have just given him the win and move on. I happened to play a Kano just like this but without the half health part in some King of the Hill matches. I didn't know you could stop it with a jab (D+1) so I found myself frustrated with him abusing it and he left after we had our fifth match. It is much better to finish something you start then give up in the middle of it. Just keep that in mind next time.

While this is very true, it is a possibility that Fleshmaster is not quite at the skill level to be able to defeat noobish spam online. However, him being beaten by this noobish spam does NOT mean that the guy was better than him. In relation to each other, it's a totally different story.
