Online Complains/Rants About Etiquette, Players, Netcode, Desyncs etc!!

The "new" online does suck and seems unchanged and even worse now with all of the disconnects and desynchs... but to come right out and say that NRS is all about the money is complete and utter bullshit. They were at UFGT7 watching the tournament and saw the video of the Kung Lao teleport infinite and went straight from the tournament to the office to prepare a fix for it right away. They have been in attendance at most of the major tournaments that MK9 has been at and fully support the scene.

Name one other game company that does what NRS is doing right now to make their game a legitimate tournament game. NONE. It takes Capcom a full new game (Super/AE) to fix stuff.

I don't have the patch because I play on the xbox, but its unplayable there too.
Honestly, you might as well give up, online is terrible, and insanely hard to fix via patches, the only game that managed it was tekken 6, and even then I would still consider that netcode garbage.

Going to have to wait for MK10, which probably won't be be for several years because they would rather take MK into other genres then improve upon the only good MK game they have ever made. Unless you get lucky and they release a UMK9 in between.

I am hoping for a umk9 patch like ae for sf down the road. But so far I am happy with NRS's commitment. After delivering on the patch and making it to every major tournament, and openly arguing for the game on camera with real passion for the game in their voice, NRS has won me over. I have faith that MK9 will only get better.

Apparently what desync's or makes the game no longer available are as listed:

Pressing start(to switch costumes on a character), using random select, using hidden character and then swtiching your controller configuration, choosing Kano, using kombat kodes, and finally switching controller configuration in-game.

These are all tested by me and a buddy online, in private matches, on 6/17/11.

I completely agree. The thing that is killing me though is I don't think or have not seen any official statement from Netherealm confronting the fact that the online play is unnacceptable. They made KOTH which i really like but if you deynch out of that its a massive killer after waiting a long time to get your chance at the throne. Pre-order or buy costumes? Nice but you cannot use them as they either dont show up or will desynch your game.

I am just frustrated like so many others, I waited years for this game (was one of those 13 year olds standing in awe in the arcades watching, learning and playing MK 1) and online play is my BnB as I know i am not tournament worthy.

Hell i couldnt even get on "themortalkombat" official forums as they were as bugged out as the online play. Sorry for ranting... I just pray the next message is all about fixing the online and not another new fighter or costume.

I don't think there's ever a good reason to ragequit. If you're having a hard time against people online, don't go into matches and quit because they're better than you or handicap themselves. Get your ass in a training room, and learn some stuff off of sites like these so you can BEAT those people. That's the name of the game.

I only ragequit 1 time. It was because the lag was unbearable and they were spamming Sheeva stomp. Felt like playing on the moon. This was back during 1 of the first patches. Other than that I see no reason why anyone would ragequit unless they are just sore losers.

I've had so many people ragequit from matches with me right when I Fatality them. I even had it happen during a KOTH and the room died, guess they extra salty.

With the offical forums down NRS forums won't be flooded with posts complaining about how broken the is. Anything to keep moving that DLC. Will never
purchase anything with those idiots names attached to it again, nor anything release by WB which obviously does not care as well.

Not only does a loss show up but it also adds to your disconnects. Thats how cool the online is. I have many losses mainly because I lost a lot at first since this is my first serious 2D fighter. But it also doesn't help that I back out of character select when I feel lag during it. So morale of story don't worry about it your online record means squat.

I mean, especially with this game online, why do people take this game seriously online? I have a ton of disconnects. Most of those are from desynchs but a lot are from me quitting the match because of the unbearable lag. Play the game locally if you enjoy it.

I'v just about had enough of this game now considering i only ever play it online or at least TRY TO!! 8 out of 10 matches i join get desyncronized even though i have good internet speed and my opponent has 3-4 green dots. I was stupid enough to buy Skarlet thinking the online would be gravy after the patch but im glad i resisted the kombat pass. How many more patches till they get this shit right!?! Even people that are local to me struggle to connect. It's all a load of bullshit, fuck your new characters, klassic skins and buffing/nerfing of characters. None of it's useful unless i can use take it online. It's a big issue that needs fixing ffs

Give me those desyncs all day long over that insane lag that the 360 was getting. I couldn't play online without my character moving in slow motion and a lot of my inputs dropping. It does need to get fixed, but I can deal with the online as long as it's not ridiculously laggy.

I got desyncs on PS3 last night trying to play with my buddy. Dunno why this happens, I thought it was my net so I reset my modem n tried again a few times. Then my friend told me they had the same problem when playing. I don't get lag anymore when I play randoms, just random desyncs which don't allow me to play.

Not that I enjoy playing scrubs online. Though playing my friend would of been nice lol.

Come on NRS just 1 good fix and it should be good.

Guys, I need some more PSN TYM players to play online...fuck playing random players. This shit is garbage. I went against some guy's jade a minute ago with rep and beat him, so I ask for a rematch because hey...even though I won I'd like to learn the comp a bit better and see what she has. So, instead of the guy picking Jade, he picks Reptile and we do mirrors. It's close but I lose barely, so it is what it is, guy does a fatality of course because casuals is srs bizness and he was mad.

So, I do one more round with him, and he picks Easymac and I pick Gayno. Because hey, if he's going easytier I'll go easytier too. He gets a lucky forcelift off and beats me and I 'rage quit' before I have to watch another fatality of which he spams RAGE QUIT! into the chat.

It's just fucking pathetic, these are CASUALS! What the fuck are these people trying to prove...go play a tournament FFS where wins matter. Jesus Christ, I am done with these random players. I messaged the guy basically rambling about what a prick he is and how MK must be his only satisfaction in his tiny dicked shit filled life to take casuals so seriously...no reply naturally because I'm clearly correct.

I'm just tired of this behavior, it's a game, it's casuals. Even in tournament level settings people don't have this fucking attitude; most are friends who play casuals together or at the very least are friendly towards one another. I'll never forget going to a LAN one day with a few friends and playing CS, some guy kept egging on this kid and this guy just walks over to him, slams his face into the desk, breaks his nose, throws him to the floor and beats the shit out of him...

Point being, this behavior will get you physically hurt outside of the internet. It's ultimately a game, even if you're a well known tournament player you should have your ego on check because A) you're living borderline poverty in most cases in your parent's basement, can't make a career out of video games these days I realize there's some exclusions from this however and B) it's likely that somebody will beat you, one day.

A ragequit is a ragequit, be it in tournaments or in casuals.
If you quit before the match is over, he will not get his victory in his statistics, which may not be important to you but may be important to him/others.

That is why some get upset when someone leaves before the fight is over.

You have to understand that one thing that may/may not be important to one person, may/may not be to another.

Win or lose, they ALWAYS talk enormous amounts of shit and its getting to the point of being straight up sickening. I can shrug off trash talk as much as the next guy, but it's starting to get to me.

Maybe I just have bad luck with my matches, but I always seem to draw the guy that sends you message afterward and calls you a bitch/pussy/whatever and just harps on and on and on and on and on and on about how much you suck dick and blah blah blah.

So the lag killed me today. I'm guessing that it has to be lag because I couldn't break a single combo against a kang player. Assuming there's no secret anti-breaker glitch that I don't know about, I'm attributing it to lag. Normally, offline, I would "try" to break a combo with forward plus block right before hit impact. But online, I think I'm just as good mashing block and forward non-stop. Any suggestions here?
