The irrepressible RDK Tyrant -- who may be becoming America's Sweetheart -- was back at this week's edition with his trusty Solomon Grundy and made his way to Winners finals. Tyrant faced off against player Emperor Theo, who was playing well all night and brought his Sinestro to attempt to end Tyrant's magical run. Although Tyrant took the first match with a host of tricks and traps, Emperor Theo setlled down and began to backdash and punish all of Tyrant's advances to take game 2. Using Grundy's chip-damage reducing trait, Tyrant was able to neutralize Sinestro's offense and made a series of good reads to take game 3 in convincing fashion and move on to Grand Finals.

(Note: Grundy mains -- this is a match to watch).

In Losers finals against a Batman-equipped Alex Valle, Emperor Theo went to his other character of the night, Superman. Although zoning was giving Batman problems, Valle kept his composure, won the second game, and seemed to have the 3rd game locked down until Emperor Theo embarked on a True Master™ comeback. With under 10 seconds left, both players entered a mad scramble for the last bit of life, ending with Valle holding onto his dear last 3% of health as Theo nearly chipped him out with a couple seconds to spare, and Valle ended up edging his way to the win via a pixel and a timeout.

This set the stage for the return of California's undead hero. Undeterred by Batman's tools, Tyrant walked his Grundy straight through most of Valle's offense. Valle went back to his trusty Joker, whom Tyrant mashed with the authority of a rampaging wildebeast to take Game 2. As a result, RDK Tyrant becomes the first player to claim a notable victory on the West Coast with one of the most exciting and beloved underdog characters in the game, Solomon Grundy.

Congratulations to Tyrant for sticking it out; and to RDK for adding another WNF to their list of team victories.

Of special note this week is Cali stalwart Legend, who managed to edge out a very exciting, close set of good matches against Aris' Deathstroke using the Flash earlier in the night.

WNF is becoming one of the most exciting and unpredictable events in the country -- who will win next week? Will Wonder Chef give up his quest to become the Shazam of America?

Solomon Grundy is not an underdog character . People are foolish if they think mid tier is hard to win with in this game and Grundy is high. It would been an underdog if it was joker or lobo.
Um sorry to burst your bubble but Lobo is actually better then Grundy
