Alright dicks , this is the first time i have gotten to play in a while(real life sucks) but I have been in the lab for a bit and i have been working on some stuff.
firstly i worked on some of the flying grayson tech @STBTakeAChance was doing . while I like the combo into it i decided to try and find other ways into this, I found you can do this off of a raw 1f2 or 1d3 with proper timing, and while technically you can tech roll outta the 1f2 , the thing is the roll timing is so strict on this move that you would have had to known that they were going to 1f2 before hand , and if so you would have just blocked 1f2. and the great thing about the setup off of 1f2 is that if they start blocking by just hitting d then you f3 them and combo back into the same mixup (f3 ji2 3 1d3) . finding that with the right timing you can about do a meaty grayson they have to block even if they crouch off of just about anything ( you can even flying grayson , then do a meaty flying grayson lol) but finding setups that beat wakeup attacks is gonna be harder.
then after this I started working on my own tech, lately i have been doing b2 db3mb as my pressure tool, its three overheads in a row and people really dont expect it, but the only thing you can get to connect at that range is another b2 , but b2 into anything wont connect. so then i started doing b2 db3mb b2 trait and then I either do a slightly delayed flying grayson or db2MB . the great thing about this is that you get a meaty flying grayson for more pressure or you get a meaty db2MB , personally so far I find the meaty db2MB a much better option solely because if they wake up attack , they go through the first spark and the second spark launches them and punishes their wakeup attempt . once they start respecting the wake up you will find that f3 , in both escrima and staff connect at the very tip of there ranges after the b2 db3mb b2 combo as well.
