Players in top of leaderboards

lol no way dude, I had to deal with that in MK9. I've had enough. I actually like having mostly challenging matches in this. I don't have to quit out of boredom 2/3 of my matches now.
lololol Ranked in MK for me was like 4/5 bad players, and a gem of a member from TYM once in a blue moon.
I might just give up on MatchMaking lol

Though i mostly play Ranked in fighting games because is faster for find opponents, nowadays i try to ignore the W/L ratio and whatever rank (if there is) they are. Specially Injustice which had a severe ragequit bug, and i personally find tracking W/L even on Ranked (but specially on any other mode like Injustice) can easily demotivate casual players.

Most top players in these sort of games usually stick with a pretty basic scrub plan which works online. Even if said tactic only works for a week (e.g. Deathstroke zoning), they already played enough matches for be in the top 10 of a leaderboard. This is more effective right when the game is released, as the community is still learning the game.

It became more apparent for me that Ranked, Leaderboards, etc. are pointless when Persona 4 Arena came out in Europe (Some weeks ago from this post. Woooooh arksys). Online was pretty dead, and you are playing the same 3-10 players every day. But since there are so few people and they'll have equal or higher rank/title than you, getting in the top rank is pretty easy. This ends similar to buster players which plays just with themselves for easily obtain the top rank.

tl;dr Ranked is full of flaws since it exists and so if someone is on the top leaderboard(s) will mean no much when the match begins

......

My point being that online players cannot be judged the same as offline and is nearly another game. I dont even play online cause I get roughly a second of delay.
Damn. That's pretty rough. You play on PS3 or 360? (lets be serious. Wii U isn't even an option) because I play on 360 and very rarely get that kind of delay. Usually about a quarter second or so.

Oh I understand Wii U sucks, but even using others Xboxs I cannot get around that.

The leaderboards for this game are pretty whack in general. Even if you sort only by trueskill, it only sorts you if you're already in the top 100 for amount of wins or something.

I'm like #2 or #3 for trueskill in Xbox ranked last I checked, but a good 90% of my wins came from hitting people with shit they shouldn't be getting hit by because people don't know to block low against Harley Quinn and react to her 27-frame overhead. Doing well online means nada, and being at the top of the leaderboards for this game especially means nothing. There are definitely some decent players though.

I feel like, in general, the TrueSkill ranking is pretty accurate. Mine is 32 right now, and I've seen a few that are higher than me at 33 and 34 and they are really good and tough to beat. I see guys with great records with a 25 skillrank and i steamroll them. and mostly when i see a 29 rank its a good match.

Nay?

The leaderboards go by wins only. So true skill and losses aren't taken into consideration. Whoever plays more will usually be at the top, so they can be really bad but just play a lot. It's just like most NRS leaderboards, terrible. They should adopt the BP/PP system AE has.

Aww shit <REDACTED DUE TO FEELINGS> its Shapzam
I don't really like leaderboards that much.

Ranked? You only get one game. Sometimes, it takes a game to react and read an opponents strategy.

Player? People back out of hard matches. Play noobs.

Leaderboards are for 2 kind of people... 1- committed players that put time into a game and show there worth..2- bad losers that think stats mean something and make em look good, they may pull also.

That depends. As someone who is 3rd in PS3 EU King of the hill and 5th in EU player matches global, I can assure you rankings doesn't matter at all. They guy who is just above me, Frostyspyke, has an impressive win/lose ratio...but his Batman is nothing out of the ordinary.

To the contrary, one of the guys below me, BrianFury, had one of the best Flashes I've seen. At the end, what really matters is skill, and leaderboards doesn't reflect that.
Idk why they had leaderboards for player match when the number 1 guy is a fraud ... Ive beat him so many times and he ragequit each time.. I swear I get more disconnects in this than black ops 2

Also player matches should be like ranked match and not give people the option to decline... Im saying

playing in your underwear in your mom's basement is a lot different than playing on a big stage with 10,000 + watching. if he doesn't get offline tourney experience he is going to take a crap all over the stage.
Such a dumb comment.. Tons of players play online then go to majors and do very well.. I got a decent scene out here in atl and I dont have time to do locals... So the next best thing is online however the worst experience online goes to this game and sfxtk

There are always exceptions, but he's right for the most part. If he's never played in that environment before it's probably gonna be a big factor.
