UFGT9: Day 1 Recap, Update, and Stream Schedule -- Updated With IGAU Top 16

What's being overlooked and not being blown up is that on one stream NOTHING but AE and Marvel are being shown (plus a little IGAU, mystery games, and Dive, each with maybe 4 hours a piece between the entirety of the 3 day event). Both those games got most of their pools streamed, and are getting their Top 32 and down streamed. I've read that they had top entrants, with AE having around 205, and Marvel having like 209, with Divekick being next with 181, and then injustice with 179.

Does having 20+ more people make it ok that between AE and Marvel, they get 22+ hours of collective stream time, while other games get considerably less?

IGAU gets 6+ hours; MK gets 2; SFxT gets 4; and everything else gets maybe 2 hours. The stream time is completely skewed, and THAT is the problem. Whether you are trying to push a product or not, it's dumb.

I have to say though, showing the mystery stuff throughout the day in between matches is smart and very cool, if that is how he was going to show Divekick mostly, then that would be the smartest thing. Showing mystery games and Divekick intersperse during the down time of the main attract games on stream would ensure you get the most people seeing the product (like a commercial), but that is not what they did.

As someone else pointed out, the people behind UFGT were doing IGAU a "favor" by even including it one the main stream at all, but beyond that, they are implying that all the other games just don't matter because even though they came and participated, paid their money and in turn helped to pay for EVERYTHING else going on at that tourney, they are brushed to the side and regulated as side events next to the "real games," the "games that matter," that are being played...Evo qualifier or not.
Not only do capcom games get the most entrants, they also get the most stream views usually.

This is why we as a community need to branch away from Capcom events. NRS games won't get the respect they deserve until we make a Tournament dedicated to NRS. This shit is infuriating and there's nothing we can do about it....yet.

I'm watching the archive now bc I missed it lastnight. Are you telling me that 16bit vs Perfect Legend in Injustice wasn't streamed? Like they don't know who these players are at this point? GTFOH Doesn't look like they streamed MK at all, but I might be the only one who still likes that game.
Why stream that match when the whole world could watch 2 scrubs play DIVESHIT

That is sort of a self fulfilling prophecy in itself.

I could be wrong in assuming this, but aren't most of these TOs SF guys from way back in the day? This is not a bad thing at all, SF is a pioneer in the FGC; it just is. That being the case, Capcom is baked into these tourneys, and they have been going strong for years with Capcom games being the headliners. How can any other game have a chance to get views and grow in popularity, when they rarely get a chance to be put on the same pedestal that the Capcom games do? Before the word go, everything else has kind of already been brushed to the side and written off as a side game.

Case in point, look at IGAU and the views it's been gettin as being the new game on the block. It has been beating AE in the majority of its showings. Is it being brushed to the side in this tourney? Or is it being treated as an equal with the AE.

I registered for dive kick because I had some fun with it last year, and meh, $10 why not, I'm already here, right? But it was running at the same time as some HYPE MK matches so I just never showed lol

I feel kinda like an ass because I know how careful all the scheduling was done, but what can I say? I'm an NRS fan girl <3

Im going to go ahead and use my local scene as an example. Dallas, TX is a very Capcom based FGC. Until about 1 or 2 years ago(Like a year and a half ago) there was no MK scene at all. A couple of us started one up, but we never got any stream time. We never complained, we just played. Then eventually there came a tournament where MK had the most entrants and the streamers decided to put MK on stream the entire time. Marvel and SF guys bitched the whole time, but the streamers didnt listen. Then after that SF and Marvel picked back up again, and it is the main streamed game in Dallas still(Hopefully Injustice changes that).

Now that may seem totally off topic and arbitrary but it has a point: Streamers will respond to entrants. If Injustice starts beating Marvel and SF numbers, then the streamers will respond accordingly. It doesnt matter if Marvel beats us by 1, the ONLY way we are going to get more stream time as a community is if people start heading out to more tournaments. I guarantee that if we get more entrants than both Marvel and SF, we will see an increase in IGAU stream time. But what people understand is you gotta earn your stream time, and pull in the numbers. We are close but not there yet.

Divekick is not really the problem though.. I don't think the people were all that interested in seeing mystery games streamed..they could've left that off and split that for that games that needed stream time. Not just injustice. I know we are all hella bias for our game but I wanted to see other ones up there.

The only difference there is that that was a local, and this is a major. They put this major event on to attract players from all over in multiple games, to get them to pay and play, and in comparison of majors of similar standing, other games aren't getting the same shake.

From what I seen since Injustice been released, only game that gets more viewers is MvC3 and Street Fighter AE(when top players actually play). Injustice is usually Top 3 and is fun to watch and gets lot of hype, why exactly did they not stream Top 32 for it but gave screen time to some random games no one cared about, Tekken and Divekick. Viewership dropped by 2-3k when divekick replaced Injustice.

MvC3>Street Fighter AE>Injustice in terms of viewers, why would they show Top 32 of the other 2 but ignore Injustice for some garbage.

I swear it must be Injustice, but of course its not streamed. They rather put us to sleep with Tekken and Divekick. Fail tourny, the hypest game gets ignored.
