I'm guessing "hitting the button at the right time" is referring to execution? I get your point but this isn't chess, it's fighting games. Strategy should be a big part, but skillful execution shouldn't be undermined.

I'm gonna chalk most of this up to not playing alot of tekken..... they're "special" moves just look like normals.

In any case..... saying the 3d/2d thing is relevant... but still a cop out.

What makes Tekken balanced? Movement and the fact that every character has tools to deal with all other characters. Some only have 1..... but that 1 is enough.

Injustice is so close to this, yet so far away. Right now... characters just can not deal with certain aspects of other characters.

edit: I do appreciate the actual discussion on this Rather than the typical "You suck scrub... " that I typically get.

haha I won't talk trash bcuz i'm cool with discussing stuff professionally and in a rude way. You didn't say anything negative about me, so i'm cool. And yeah tekken does have things that puts it on the upper scale in balance, I was just saying the 3d/2d thing bcuz 3d fighting games and 2d fighting games so different. Either way, I just hope IGAU goes strong for a long time, and hopefully ppl will keep going at mk9 until mk10 comes out.

Other games have unfair and unbalanced shit.I dont see why we cant learn to deal with it.
And to those that cry that they cant deal with something just go to each character's subforum.Check what each character's players think are their weaknesses and exploit them in your gameplay.
As for wheter MK is more balanced than Injustice I dont know and I really dont care.

I wish threads like this would evaporate and people just played the damn game. Imbalance is inherent to the fighting game genre so some characters are are bound to be better than others; suck it up. Pick the character you have the most fun with and ignore haters / nerf-demanders / downplayers. Get together with friends and play / have fun / improve. Go to tournaments and test your skill, if you're feeling up to it. These threads are pointless and do nothing but rile the masses. Keep your opinion to yourself because this community has shown that it clearly doesn't have the maturity to engage in constructive dialogue. Just stop arguing about everything and PLAY.

Srly I have never,ever seen so much salt and hate in a forum ever.Not even the On-disk DLC Fiasco of SFXT was this bad IMO.Fucking play the game and if you dont like it or cant handle it go fucking play MK9 so it wont die.

The funniest thing about it Is that most of the people whining and complaining about all this bullshit aren't even any good at the game anyway so what fucking difference does it make if its perfectly Balanced or not? I give praise to NRS for listening to their fans but we really dont deserve jack.If you want to be competitive you need to use your brain to counter something.Instead of going on and on at how broken something is you could spend more time in the lab trying set-ups to counter this so called unfair shit.

I agree with that but Bane vs supes is pretty horrible and Bane is one of the few with blantantly obvious shortcomings and problems with dudes like Supes. Bane in general is one of the few characters that strikes me as weak as hell *Yet I'm maining him, go me* with a few strength *Pretty good once he's in* but due to his main selling point *Venom* being kind of badly designed.

For real though people do need to read the other character forums for information, and by read I mean read not post a bitching thread.

Really, Superman is too good. I think he needs to be toned down because buffing EVERYONE to match him will just be chaotic. Nothing that's going to kill him but LBSH he's pretty fucked up vs most of the cast.

Things balanced around execution are dumb. Take ewgf for example once you know what it is there's absolutely no reason to implement wgf in your strategy at all they basically put a useless move in the meta game well a whole set of useless moves since there's almost no reason to ever willingly do the non JF version of a move. It doesn't promote any certain style of play hell it doesn't even promote playing against opponents it just promotes spending a shitton of time in training mode.

EWGF hits high and I believe it can be sidestepped. It's not some unbeatable god-move send from the high heavens to crush everyone that doesn't learn how to do it.
Besides, it's one thing to learn how to do a just-frame move (like EWGF), but the assumption that learning a just-frame doesn't promote a certain style of play is wrong. The process of learning the just-frame move on its own teaches you how to execute the move, sure, but correct utilisation of a just-frame move like EWGF is a completely different story. Because you can duck under it, a Mishima player has to be aware of all of their options from a crouch-dash. Throwing out EWGF all day will make you predictable and get you punished.
