Injustice Tourney Standard Console - XBOX or PS3?

What if they aren't attending because the cost to get to the tourny, plus cost to enter, plus the cost to buy new controllers and shit is obscene? Compounded by the fact that time is needed to adjust to the new controller?

Bearing in mind the cost to attend you also have to think about missed work (its a big deal for us broke folk) Me? I work 2 jobs, both on Friday and Saturday. So that's 12-16 hours of lost work per day, if I make it to day 2 then we are sitting on we will say 26 missed hours of work. Even at min wage adds up. Not to mention the up to $80 ish in tips i can make at the 2nd job (I am not a stripper)

Now that I re-read this.... damn, maybe I should cancel my new controller order and just go to work- ffs, make more money than if i got 1st at NWM. If only it was less fun lol.

Well you sir obvisouly have a very busy life as well as I do, attnding even local offline gaming and small tourneys is difficult for me, I have to help take care of the wife and the kids as well as work full time. Now taking time off to attend a tourney isn't too much I make salary, buut that means I have to take my vacation days instead saving them for emergencies and actual vacation. For you though I can see where your really coming from thats alot of work and alot of money being missed big time.

I use to use this one adapter that would do the wrong inputs and piss me off like crazy until now I found one for $10 that works great for xbox to ps3.

I have both systems, I only use an xbox controller, so I don't see why PS3 users have to get their panties in a bunch to get a converter.

I've never tried it..but if you disconnect your controllers battery for ps3... Will it still function when plugged in? It's relatively trivial to get to, just need a small enough screwdriver.

PS3 lags HARDCORE sometimes... and im not talking input latency... im talking about online lag slowdown type of stuff. THTB and I saw it several times in one night

People saying just use a PS2 controller with an adapter and that their the same thing have never played on a PS3 controller for a good amount of time then gone back to a PS2 one. I'm already looking into ways to be able to use my pad *PDP AGE pad, for some reason doesn't work with most PS3 to 360 converters* the difference between a PS3 pad and a PS2 pad are pretty big, from weight, size, triggers vs buttons, and how the Dpads are made. It's like going from using an Eightarc witha Square gate and Seimitsu buttons to a VLX with a Hex Gate, bat top, and silent buttons.

If I remember correctly, even the EVO staff has said that they would prefer to run the games on the 360, but with the red rings and Sony being a sponsor, it's just not possible.

I'm not going to say the 360 is perfect, but there have been many times in casuals and tournaments in MK9 for me personally where I have dropped a combo due to the system/stage lagging on the PS3. This is all offline and on several different PS3's including both of mine.

Also... the only tournament that I've ever seen a wireless controller result in a replay of a match was at EVO 2011 where Malik (MIT) played against Detroitballin and he used a wireless pad where he won... They had to replay the match after it was discovered that he used a banned controller and MIT subsequently lost.

I hate wireless controllers and their issues on the PS3... has there been a stream in years that didn't have player 3/4 hit the home button during someone else's match..? I'd be fucking pissed if that happened during my match at a major.

I've seen tons of majors go by without a single Home button issue since EVO11. Can't think of a single time it happened during NCR for recent ones. It just means the staff TOs choose actually have to be on their job when their monitoring their stations.

Not necessarily, but eh. what evs- paypal has helped with my next controller, just wont be in time for the next major here. sad, but I dont know that ill be able to take the time off of work any how. Good luck to everyone who is going to NWM.

You don't have to be rich, but it does take anywhere from $80- several hundreds depending on where you're traveling from. A lot of people don't have the luxury of having a major right by them so they have to pay for venue fee, hotel, gas/plane ticket, and food. If you plan way ahead in time it's fine, but for many people video games aren't their biggest hobby or have much more important responsibilities such as raising a family or taking care of their career etc.

If you're able to spend $200 on a weekend playing video games and not making any money off of it and socializing, I don't see how hard it can be for you to buy a new system.

Haven't had an issue with PS3 and I doubt TO's are going to want to invest in Xbox Konsoles for this game when the next gen is on the horizon...

I own both consoles and even though im more of a ps3 fanboy, i cant deny the game runs better on 360. The same can be said for mk9.

However, i feel the game still runs pretty good on ps3. The lag spikes are rare and usually only during Super animations. Either console is good, but for the sake of TO's, its probably easier to stick with ps3.

I own injustice on both systems, I had to pay for a season pass on both systems, I've bought the skin packs for the 360...I want to KNOW what damn console is going to be the tournament standard before I buy any other packs...

I have the season pass on both systems so characters are covered, costumes aren't going to do jack shit for me I just want it for ONE system when i bring it to locals etc...

And the "point" of buying it for both systems is because I have friends on both.

PS3 is the standart for a reason, keep it that way, 360 pad suck for figher, it is good for shooters tho.

Nope from what i hear the reason EVO uses the PS3 is because sony is a sponsor and yes i play fighting games on the PS3 however its pretty damn lame the games like UMvC3 will only be played on with one background the training stage. I really dont care for UMvC3 but way to kill the hype EVO.

Right, but if you are a tournament player the obvious thing to do would be to practice on the system that's being used so you are used to everything. The reason it's there is not relevant since it's not going to change

I don't know. If the Xbox 360 version performs slightly better... what does it matter. It is such a minute margin of improvement that it doesn't matter. I say keep it PS3. I think most of the MK community bought it on PS3 thinking that this wouldn't even be an issue regardless of performance issues. I have had no problems on the PS3 yet. None of the glitches I have heard about ever happened to me personally. :16Bit

Xbox is the system that all TO's should use. Ps3 lags for mk, injustice and marvel.

Red ring of death is a lot less frequent on newer Xbox's.... well PS3's don't die. At least not as far as I am aware. I don't experience any lag offline on Ps3. :16Bit
