Injustice Tourney Standard Console - XBOX or PS3?

You're going to shoot guns at me?
I apologize, but I'm not digging through random youtube videos or buying recording equipment when there's plenty of circumstantial evidence from people besides myself who have no reason to lie about it. It's kind of a lot to ask all the people at the aforementioned tournament who experienced it to sign on TYM just to support the claim of me and another. Personally I'd have no problems with PS3 since it's the console I generally own FGs for, except it's screwed up with important matches which I have little tolerance for. If people could figure out which models cause this, or if it's an issue of PS3s just running too long that could help with this issue. I'm not saying all games should be moved over to 360, but in Injustice's case I feel very strongly that it's best to do so until either NRS fixes this or we have concrete information on why this happens on PS3, and so inconsistently.

It should be PS3. It is PS3 for every fighter that's on the PS3.

Not to mention I play Pad and hate the 360 controller. If I went to a major and had to use 360 I'd be annoyed, that controller is not made for fighters.
Get a converter then, I've never once gone to a Ps3 tournament where some tard hasnt left their controller on and fucked up a match at some point.
Not even possible to happen on 360.

Easy to get around....

Threaten DQ if someone does that, people will be more careful.

100% agree!!! I love how every tournament says "No wireless controllers" yet there are tons of people that bring wireless controllers to tournaments. Isn't the EVO standard having a wired controller? So why the hell is this rule beyond flexible?

People are never careful though, it happens every time. Like I said before, its not even possible for that to happen on the 360 console.
Just because we'd be playing on 360, doesnt mean you cant play on a playstation pad, a converter costs like £5 and lasts forever.

I've been using a converter for 360 -> ps3 since MK9, so idk why nobody else could do it the other way around.
The xbox just has alot less room for failure in tournaments from what I've seen.

Agreed, EVO is wired.

Are there wired Dualshocks? That is what I would want to use.

NO. You need to use a PS2 controller WITH a converter! Or you use a stick. Want to guess how many people actually do that and follow the rules?

I am not one to comment on the differences, but I have not seen any issue thus far on the PS3 and I run one of the old fat systems when they first came out, but if many others are experiencing these issues well then there is obvious truths to the claims, so I cannot argue.

I will admit changing over to a new system is expensive, though I own both console I refuse to pay for an XBL account and I am not buying a game for both systems, when I know I will only use one version 95% of the time. For D-Pad users though it can be a stressful and problematic process, many PS3 users like the PS3 standard controller, in which case would require one to purchase an new controller that works for them on both consoles, the upside to this is that there are D-Pad controllers designed for FGs and are cheap enough to purchase one for each console, which is not as much of a pain to carry both when attending a tourny. Now for stick users there isn't that much a big issue there, the 8-arc sticks are 360/PS3/PC functional have been known to be quite reliable controllers and would require at most a $200 investment, its expensive, but you now have a multi-functional controller. I find myself in the stick cataegory and I currently use a Madcatz stick and now I must look into adapting buy bucking up and buying a new controller for this case. Its hard to do this because we all know the next gen console likely will not support these older controllers and we will then have to buy new ones when FGs begin to use those platforms. Eventually I will be getting a new one, but thats the case if we want to compete we have to be ready...

I'm not sure, but I think your controller can still cause problems after it's synced? Plus people are always looking for sync cables....

PS2 does have triggers.
The R2 and L2 exist, i just mean they are different from the PS3 ones which I have more of a feel for.

I don't own one of those that I linked but if I found it was tournament legal I'd definitely shell the money out to give it a shot.

UFGT, EVO and VXG all on PS3. The choice was already made for me what console I'm practicing on. If you want to run your locals on Xbox no ones going to stop you.

I know I will never ever use the 360 version anyway at home, my wife rules over that console like tyrant, she loves her damn Fable II and that crappy Brave game

I dont own IGAU on PS3, but I've played on my friends a ton. I see no difference. Also if controllers are a issue, buy a fightpad or converter.

As long as Big E's tournaments (Summer Jam, Winter Brawl, NEC) follow suit, I'll be satisfied.

Even though I'm an MK9 player who uses pad, I think me and other PS3 pad players are just gonna have to splurge on PS2 pads + adapters. Dealing with lag is an unreasonable request to make of tournament players. If you want to play at a high level, you're gonna have to cough up the cash for a new pad or stick.

its a thing someone will have to deal with for either system- converters and such. I personally hate the 360 and have never had issues with the ps3. Experiencing slow down/lag/framedrops? clean your damn system... dust isn't a performance enhancing drug for your console.
That being said, I am pretty sure the community at large has decided on xbox... I have gone out on a limb and ordered my next stick dual console (cost me more than the damn console its self)

But as a side note, it always bothers me when people say shit like "just get both and be prepared" ya know, not everyone has money coming out of every orifice. Hell the only reason I am able to get my next controller is thanks to paypal and my somehow ok credit >.>
but thats a totally different subject i suppose.

The thing is if you're a tournament player you should already have ps2 pads.

you know, Ive used a ps2 controller on converter... its way effing different even when just using it to adhere to the wired only rule for a ps3 standard game... and unless you drop some good money on a converter? Well I played at a major with shang, and found out that the ps2 controller was having hella input errors on block and up... so no close ground skull, no up skull, and no blocking or EX (that worked fantastic.. smh)

EDIT* Although I do have to agree with the sync issue - I would be pissed if I was on a roll in IGAU where the life bars are as they are and some tool popped up the XMB.

What if they aren't attending because the cost to get to the tourny, plus cost to enter, plus the cost to buy new controllers and shit is obscene? Compounded by the fact that time is needed to adjust to the new controller?

Bearing in mind the cost to attend you also have to think about missed work (its a big deal for us broke folk) Me? I work 2 jobs, both on Friday and Saturday. So that's 12-16 hours of lost work per day, if I make it to day 2 then we are sitting on we will say 26 missed hours of work. Even at min wage adds up. Not to mention the up to $80 ish in tips i can make at the 2nd job (I am not a stripper)

Now that I re-read this.... damn, maybe I should cancel my new controller order and just go to work- ffs, make more money than if i got 1st at NWM. If only it was less fun lol.
^dont know that for fact- I'm a little fuzzy about the payouts.
