You're using odd reasoning, your whole thing is "they chose the second most requested character instead of the first, why would they do this if they weren't gonna use the first?". Why wouldn't they just use the first? What makes you so certain that they simply didn't wanna use MMH/he didn't make the cut? If, IF, they do a second round he's a no brainer if he isn't already part of season one (if the list turns out to be wrong) but to say "they didn't use him this time so he's in" is weird.
