Speaking of help, urgent news:

I was originally going to take RayboneKilla up on his offer of helping me drive to EVO this year, but unfortunately some complications arose and now he'll be traveling to Dallas so a friend can take him. Their car will be too small for a third occupant, so now that route for me is cut off.

Then I remembered ChaseRLewis from my first night of casuals at Raybone's place weeks ago, so I texted him about this. He said his car is currently full, but one guy appears to be questionable about going. If the guy decides not to, there will then be a spot for me; if he does, then my problem persists.

I doubt I can chance bus fares across four states, because I live twenty-one hours away from Las Vegas and I'm pretty sure that distance is a factor in how much I'd have to pay. I got $180 dollars richer via a check I'll cash in soon, but I don't know if that will be enough. And I doubt I can afford a plane ticket to Las Vegas and back to Oklahoma.

Is there anyone else here in the Oklahoma area that is driving to EVO? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you can offer a spot for me. This is just in case Chase can't open up a spot for me. If he does manage to, I will post here again and let you all know, but until then I'd like to see if any further options are open for me.

This is one of those times where I wish I could drive myself...ugh.

Thanks man, will do. Hope you can find a ride to EVO, seems like it'd be quite the experience. Also grats on the tournament win earlier this week.

Damn, bad news...Chase couldn't clear a spot for me.

I repeat: if anyone in Oklahoma is driving to EVO, please let me know. I could use the help.

Had fun at evo. I could have done better. Choked against a nightwolf player I should have beat. But yeah. Props to mksaibot for beating justin wong!!

At least you got the experience of EVO, that's a win in itself. Been meaning to ask you a few things too, sent you a PM on it.

Hey guys, A.R.K. IV is coming up September 17th-18th in Jacksonville, AR! We are expecting ~200 people with games such as SSF4:AE, SF 3S:OE, Marvel Vs. Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Melee, Brawl, BB:CS II, and more! Competitors are coming in from at least 6-7 several states to compete!

Note that our tournament is working on securing sponsorships from well known companies which will each be providing additional prizes and bonus pots for our tournaments. The Traveling Circus has expressed interest as of this time. Also, well-known regional modder DaRabidDuckie will be on hand to provide dual mods (PS3 <-> 360) for fight sticks.

Any of you guys driving to Phoenix in under a month? The Devastation tournament begins on October 7th and ends on the 9th. If you haven't started making travel plans yet, you might want to do so now. I'd like to join up with anyone driving there if that's okay.

i've migrated from another OK gamers site to try to find people who are still interested in MK. i'd like to get better and just play with people i'd have an actual chance to meet in person. if anyone is interested we'd be able to do mic battles online and maybe put together some offline sparring matches.

We need to really get the Oklahoma scene alive again. Mortal Kombat 9 was just confirmed for EVO 2012! It's vital that we get offline practice as much as possible!

Anybody with scenes for casuals, tournaments, anything whatsoever, please post here! I'm itching to get some action.

According to information given to me by a fellow member of the Crazy 88's clan, there is an EVO qualifier tournament going down in Texas during April. As we're only one state up north from there, I wonder if this is something we could potentially plan for? Please speak up on what you think.

No problem man, I know how hungry players are to show their skill and enjoy the offline competition. Maybe OK has a tournament and TX guys decide to come. We can help build each other's MK9 scene. Also it would be cool if K7L33THA made it out, and possibly streamed? Again I know its late notice, but just throwing ideas out there

Just wanted to say congratulations to Gamerblake for taking 1st @ Texas Bar Fights Round 7. I can tell you have a real passion for this game, and you definately play at an exceptionally high level. I may not be the best MK player, and my game may not be on par with most peeps, due to my addiction to Tekken, but I watched you go undefeated, against a lot of great players. You genuinely care about the MK community, and I got a lot of respect for you man. Aaron Bennett aka FukButtonMashers would also like to extend his props. Good shit man. X-RAY that BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks, Ray! We wanted you to join us in celebrating my victory, but then I discovered that you had to leave, which was depressing because our group is not complete without you there.

You definitely need to put more time into MK9, but your Reptile and Kabal still held their own against all odds. I'm going to step up our training for Texas Showdown, so be sure to meet with us more at SaibotMK's "theater," if you will. ;)
