Tonight's stream will feature Tom Brady, a post Summer Jam MK9 Tournament, followed by the debut of UMK3 on stream. We should have players like Shock, Summoning, REO, Dark Rob, and myself to demonstrate some high level UMK3 play.

Hey so, I heard that you can't take public transportation back to Manhattan for this, so is there anyone I could hitch rides with to go next week/future weeks? I live in Manhattan but I'd be fine taking the train to Queens and back or wherever for a ride.

We have players who come from Manhattan and other parts of the city(brooklyn/queens/bronx), so you may very well be able to hitch a ride home.

whats up everyone?? im exciting to finally join the site and find some other mk players. only two of my friends play and they keep making excuses not to play me. im interested in coming through. my gf wants to come too but shes not that good and i was wondering if everyone who goes are all pros cause i would like her to play but i dont want her getting defeating by two crazy combos and its over lol. also is it only ps3?

Bring all, very friendly crowd. Yes, many pro come through like CD brothers, Tom Brady, REO, Eric Warda, Michael Bollllton. But, all classy guys and great experience

We've had a few women play before, it will be an enjoyable/educational experience to play some of the players here because they are very friendly and extremely helpful and supportive. Looking forward to meeting you.

Man i feel really out of the loop. Lol I wont be able to make this thursday because I've had A LOT going on in my life but I'll probobly be able to show next week. Cant wait to play again its been too long.

So, tomorrow will be a fun test. Let me explain:

On Saturday I picked up an ASUS VH236H monitor, which is the EVO recommended monitor with 2ms response time and lagless play.

This presented me with a new challenge for streaming, as the ASUS only takes HDMI/DVI/VGA inputs, and not the component input that I use to stream with.

Today, I purchased a powered HDMI splitter, and a highly recommended HDMI to component digital/analog converter to convert the HDMI signal back to component so that I can send it to the stream.

If all works well, we will have the ASUS VH236H monitor with HDMI in, lagless play, and the stream up and running. I will know tomorrow when I perform my tests.

Awesome. I bought 2 earlier this year. they are amazing.

Just need speakers for them haha.

Do you still want me to bring my monitor for casuals? Worst case scenario we could use it for the stream if your converter doesn't work because it has component.

I'm not going to be able to make it out tomorrow night. At least not at the normal time. I'll do what I can to get there if it's possible.

Phil sounds like you need a HDFury. Like I keep saying to you every week your progression is very similar to Sp00kys in a lot of ways lol.

Hey, if I'm following Sp00ky's path, must be good, right?

The HDFury is really expensive, between $150 or $239 if I get the "deluxe" version.

I ran my tests tonight on the parts I got today and the stream works fine. We will be playing MK on the ASUS VH236H at Gamers Edge!

Tonight's stream is going to have a special event. We will run a singles tournament just like last week, but this week we're also going to do a team exhibition match.

Team 1
Tom Brady
CD Jr.
REO

Team 2
Crazy Dominican
Maxter
Erik Warda(providing he makes it this week)

These teams will play an exhibition best 2 of 3 with standard team tournament rules:
-Each team member must use a unique character, two team members may not select the same character.
-When one team member loses a single match, he is eliminated from the round and the next member plays.
-When all of a team's players have been eliminated the match is over.
-2/3 matches.

how many playing setups are there other then the stream?
how many setups total can you fit there if you wanted to max it out?
is there any xbox setups there? need to know if i need to bring my 360 remote.

well i really hope NOTHING comes up in my busy life so i can come by. I've been following the MK scene in most of my free time at home watching videos on my phone and computer. its gonna be nice to actually be there and meet you guys. I might lose every round but it'll still be satisfying.

GG to Crazy Dominican and that Kano player (Dan maybe? sorry I forget your name) last night. I just wish my match against CD didn't happen to be my warmup match haha.

I had a good time even though I just played those 2 tourney matches. Anyone considering going who hasn't should definitely go. Just talking to Maxter and Erik gave me some good knowledge. Sorry I had to leave early, I have class at 9am on fridays so i won't be able to stay the whole time when i go.
