Because enough MK players invest themselves into IGAU, and enough casual/novice player could be easily exciteable by the thought of an MK fighter being brought into a (sort-of) entirely new fight to sell a fuck-ton of product and excite a reasonable amount of the tourney base.
It's not a GREAT idea, but it ain't terrible, either.

See the "If MK can have Freddy, IGAU can have Scorpion" argument.
Except this time it'd actually be exciting, and there's only ONE Scorpion, which means we won't be swerved to believe we'd get one and stuck with the shitty alternate version.

Lobo, Batgirl, Zod, and Scorpion make the most sense from a business perspective.

Lobo for fake DC fanboys.
Batgirl because the DLC obviously needs a token bat character because its fucking batman.
Zod because Man of Steel comes out very soon and cross promotions are far too good to not do.
Scorpion because Freddy sold the most out of all the other DLC for MK9, so they might try the guest character route again, and Scorpion is a fan favorite for casual video game fans everywhere, and as an apology to MK fans for making this instead of MK10.

If we had to have a new Bat character and a female, I would have preferred Poison Ivy.

There are not. If there were, then the thought of Scorpion in Injustice would have been snuffed out instantly. That is literally the only one of these DLC choices I would hate, and I didn't even want Lobo. Zod I'm indifferent towards. Batgirl > Batman in my opinion. Would've liked her as a skin though, but I'll take what I get.

well maybe if it were MMH instead of scorpion i wouldn't be THAT pissed :D but still if this is true, it's a dissapointing DLC, and i don't think i'll buy it, except for LOBO maybe

Yeah, I think if the other rumored characters were MMH and Black Canary instead, I would be more calm. Those are the two DC characters not in that I really want. Instead we're possibly getting characters with the same abilities as Superman and Batman(as if we already didn't have enough Batman characters and Regime Superman is basically Zod anyway)

exactly what i've been saying! I mean besides Lobo none of these make sense - i mean 2 copy characters and 1 MK character (that almost noone wants)

Batgirl I can see having potential, especially considering the amount of bullshit gadgets in the Batcave's arsenal and the fact that Barbara Gordon is a little faster and more agile/acrobatic than Bruce(though not nearly as much as Dick). I could see her having a different moveset and still working. Though I think this is mostly me not wanting her to be using Batman's shitty stance lol

Zod, on the other hand...same fucking issue I have with Supergirl/Power Girl. All Kryptonians have the EXACT SAME POWER SET. Don't even use them very differently either. Which is why I would take Batgirl over Super/Power Girl and just about ANY villain over Zod.

Seriously, let me get this straight.. Replace DOCTOR FATE, a original character, one of the founders of the JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA, and would be totally unique for this game.. With a girl version of Superman. I'm done.

I think mostly fans would love to have MMH, Canary/Zatanna, Doctor Fate/Blue Beetle/Swamp Thing. I think those are the top fan favorites
EDIT: I would add Power Girl but she is very tricky some want her, some not at all, the list above is what most would want

I wouldn't mind another Season Pass with those characters, but seriously... Supergirl/Zod and Batgirl are just complete and utter waste of slots for DLC.

and if we were to consider bat characters the two most wanted would be Red Hood and Poison Ivy so even from the Bat characters Batgirl is not wanted
