Also Tom Brady is hater of the year and gets 10 cool points for putting people on blast
Good games to all the MK players at Augusta Super Tournament; I had a lot of fun yesterday. It was a pleasure meeting everyone; we should get some more offline matches going soon. Hopefully, I can make it to the next tournament in Columbia next month. We will run it back. ;)

Good games Omega Red! It was nice talking with you yesterday and i definitely hope you can make it to our Cola tourney in June. If you need any directions/info about it just let me know and i'll get it to you. I look forward to that run back:D

@U-Volt: tourney results were...

1st ATL Red
2nd DrHat
3nd Electric
4th Yoshido
5th I think Keyon tied for fifth but im not 100% sure

So Cola was in the building but Georgia took it. I'm proud that SC managed to do so well in Mk as well as the other tournies.

Yeah, man. I'm not gonna lie, I got blown up by those lui Kang strings. It didn't seem quite so bad in theory but IN PRACTICE that mixup had me floating in the air for like 40%. I'm definitely going to have to get some more experience in that matchup. Also can you post a link to that stream? I tried to find it earlier but couldn't find it. Thanks bro.

MK starts at 35:00!

And yes, we need to drill that matchup FOR REAL. His b+312 string (the one that starts low that he was hitting you) REALLY sucks. It starts quick and Kang SEEMS like he has adv. on block (something we need to test thoroughly). Best thing to do is when Kang gets close, block low on the first hit of any string, then block high for the rest in case he mixes it up with the OH string, which can lead to another b+312 juggle into death.

I'm really considering changing to a more fundamental based character (Or who I think is one) until I have a better grasp on what to do exactly in this game. Because I'm really having issues learning it. So I think I'll play Nightwolf. I'm not sure if thats a great choice, but he seems more beginner friendly.

I'm not sure I would call Nightwolf a fundamental based character since so much of his game revolves around shoulder/lighting mixups. If you wanted characters that focus primarily on fundamentals I would go with subzero, scorpion, johnny cage, smoke, and raiden imo. The last three characters have gimmicks too but I think they win more on fundamentals. Since you are a technical player as well I think the real solution for you is more info on the game system and other characters. Despite some rumors of your inability to block, defense is key to you style so that should help. To help out I've scoured the boards for good info that will hopefully help. I would also recommend reading the character guides for each individual character so you'll know their character concept and know what to lookout for. Here are the links.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself to the SC scene. Im from the Greenville area and was under the impression online was my only option. Glad to know there are tourneys around here. MK is the first fighting game I am taking serious enough to try and break into the competitive scene. I am looking forward to the tourney in Columbia (though im sure i will get blown up, it will be a learning experience none the less. and a chance to work on taking my game to the next level) I look forward to meeting you guys.

At the moment my main in mk is reptile. But ya i also play marvel and super but mk is def my strongest game. I straight up suck at super though the timing with linking longer combos on just doesnt seem to click with me lol. I also recently picked up blazblue to give it a shot. I had always been a very casual player when it came to fighting games until i stumbled across the winterbrawl stream back in feb and saw how fun the competitive scene looked. So i am still pretty new to the whole community

Lucky for you we have 2 reptile players here. Regards to the other games if you need help with those too we are more than willing to help out. Also do you plan on coming to any of the casuals sessions in the future? If so we will keep you informed on the situation.s

Hello HammeredWookiee! Welcome to the thread. Like Charlie Murphy said we play a bunch of games and we have a few reptile specialists so if you need any help feel free to ask. Also if you're randomly in cola we have casuals pretty regularly in case you want to get some offline practice in. I'm not sure if you're connected with the greenville scene but they have a good number of players too and I believe some of them are playing MK as well. You can check the their thread on SRK if you want some casuals a little closer to you. I know Fildoh is in the greenville area and I'm pretty confident he's playing MK so you can definitely get in touch with him. Here's a link for ya.

So yeah this thread is not moving :/
Yeah, I've been slacking off since i got so busy with work. This week should be different however. Also we are going to have to have a long "chat" about this treachery you've been spreading about Shang not having a mixup.

I don't know Pat everyone else agrees.................But anywho I actually will be revisting him soon. After I learn a few more characters. Also have you read these patch notes on these nerfs.
