lol, Keyon is hinting at the "modified" state of my ps3 at the moment. So it might be a minute before I can actually play on psn but I may actually be doing something about that soon. However, we can still talk about the smoke match up and share info/strats. I have to admit it will be more "theory fighter" from me since the only reptile I've played is Simplekiss and that was once a long while ago.

Edit:Interestingly enough we may be able to succeed here at something we've failed at on srk, which is actually talking strategy on the forums.

Sub Zero and Shang Tsung imo, are reptile's worst matchups.
Shang I'm not sure on, as I've only played against Keyon's online, and only 1 or 2 matches.

Sub, on the other hand, I have quite a bit of in-person experience against. There's a pretty good Sub player here, and one night we really hit that matchup hard. Basically, once you can get in Sub's face, you can apply pressure and stay in his face with your different strings and enders. Just make sure you are keeping as close to him as possible, making sure he can't clone. The hard part is obviously getting in. From full-screen range, you can duck under all ice, including ex version. The moment after ducking one, throw a fast forceball, if Sub throws another ball at the same time, it will trade, but slightly in Reptiles favor. The Sub player will either keep doing this, and losing more life that Rep, or he will try and move in, where it is much more in your favor. The real advantage is when you have X Ray, b/c it can punish a clone or ice ball full screen. It goes straight through clones, shattering them.

I agree with the Reptile board saying this matchup is 4.5/5.5 Sub, and that it's anyone's game. Keyon can tell you that from our Sub/Rep games online :).

As far as the Smoke matchup, I need to play against a decent Smoke to really break that down. When I visit in a few weeks, we can get some time in on that matchup, Pat. Of course if we had some frame data, or even a dummy record feature, this would be a little easier....

Hmm, interesting stuff. Thanks for that sub advice.

Most definitely. And I feel your pain on that frame data/training mode. For a game that plays so much like a 3d game frame data is a must. I really hope that they do add that dummy record feature in the new patch.

K, I just booked my plane tickets. I'll be in town from 5/25 to 6/2. See y'all soon!
Cool, see you next week!

@Yoshido: I was randomly messing with Sindel and found out that you can definitely do fly->immediate fireball which would work well when combined with fly cancels to bait opponents. Her 2,1 string is also very interesting being a 3 hit HHL where the highs appear unduckable and the last hit is special cancellable. Mixing this with here 2 hit HM string seems like a viable option. Also scream seems only useful if you combo into it since its so punishable. If you need some combos check the thread or steal the one in this video.

That video scares the crap out of me.....
That glitch should obviously be banned in tournament play, right? Am I crazy?
yeah, that glitch is pretty serious but I pretty sure it is also getting patched in the upcoming update. Until then it BETTER be banned at all tournaments or I might have to start questioning the wisdom of the tourny organizer.

Man, these nerfs are getting a little out of hand. Realistically the game hasn't been out long enough to justify some of these and others seem based on the fact that people don't actually want to take the time to learn how to deal with certain things. To be honest if they were to merely release a training mode patch I think most people would realize half the things they are complaining about have a simple counter.

edit: I also more worried now since this in only the hotfix patch and more nerfs are supposed to be coming in the bigger patch with the dlc characters.
