How well does iaGS fare against NW?

Clearly a 9-1, it's only a matter of time before all the Stroking makes Dick want to come (in).

Alright, Chris G did us a favor. Gave us at least one game as Nightwing against Thatguy's GL. Neither's character were the best but it provides some insight into the matchup.

It's going to have to be Escrima heavy. Staff at full screen doesn't do crap to Hal, he has no reason to be grounded. Going to have to avoid and block Oa's Rocket and dash in quick. Maintain momentum and always halt his. Pushblock whenever he starts shit. We're not burning as much meter on MB Ground Blast as normal so we'll have the extra meter for this. Every time we block a Lift, punish if close enough, close the distance if too far. We're going to have to keep on him and just not let him get started as much.

Alright, another update on the Aquman matchup. Be EXTREMELY cautious when doing Flip Kicks on him...d2 beats it out free even on the crossup. I was doing it on b2 setups and such and I was beat out twice. I was sad.

EDIT: Another update...yeah I do a lot of these. I completely underestimated the need to understand the MIRROR MATCH. This shit is tough against another good Nightwing.

Yea I have been doing this as well and works wonders

I have some series w lantern players setup aNd I told them to zone me out only w air and ground projectiles aNd when I get close turbine themselves to the other side until I figure out what to do

UPDATE:

When lantern does B13 block the b1 *backdash here* 3 and whiff punish w b2 in escrima

Also in staff stance back dash seems to have much more invincibility on back dash

For example backdash the same string in between hits and punish w d1 db2 MB

This works for b12 as well and worst thing that can happen is if I miss time the back dash u r still holding back and it blocks

But yeah that's good shit. I was getting decimated by that damn string. That shit's going to be key to taking down Lanterns.

Yup, haven't had any issues dealing with Deathstroke. I've had a hard time dealing with Ravens, GL's and WW's. Currently trying to get the timing down for the backdash during GL's b13 (thanks for sharing, @pigofthehut), but can be tricky online.

The trick will come in recognizing them.

But let's check the abused ones. Can we backdash Clark's f23?

Put the CPU on reversal, do the string and if reversal pops up you can probably backdash.
To test it out fully, record with cpu and try backdashing out of it.
Nightwing's 112 string has a framehole between the 1 and 2.

I already determined you cannot backdash out of Doomsday's D1~groundpound, the second hit gets you.
 
Yeah that back dash is tight as hell. I tried it after Brady told me at civil war that I could back dash. It's one of those strats you have to take in the lab. The same applies to MB Doomsday Vulcan dive

Unless I did it wrong, you can't dash out of Supes f23...I'm sad.

Also the plan to optimize more shit from b2 is falling short of expectations. The rare time I feel disappointed coming from the lab.

That's another one you have to go into the lab and practice. The first hit hits mid and the pound is a low

From the GL's I played at civil war it doesn't feel Escrima heavy. It's all about getting in, which you would use Escrima to do. After that It's really up to the player to stay there with staff or Escrima. In staff you can just harass them with d1,1f-etc. strings,throws, overheads, staff spin,and ground spark. Once you're in GL is free
