Connecting To Lobby Block Infinite

I’m having a problem connecting to Mortal Kombat (PS3) for over a month ever since I upgraded to a DOCSIS 3 modem. These are basically the new generation of modems that are required to get faster download speeds.
Any time I try to connect to the Multiplayer I get stuck on the connecting to lobby screen forever and have to quit the game.
I first got this problem when I upgraded my internet from 30mb to 50mb and in order to get the 50mb download speed we were given a new DOCSIS 3 modem the model name was Cisco 3925.
When I first got the problem I tried everything to fix the problem. I tried portforwarding, enabling dmz and i even used a friends PS3 and different copies of MK both the European and American versions of the game and none of this worked. I then got a new modem from my isp this time it was a Thompson modem but was still a DOCSIS 3 and this didn't work either.
After all this I decided to try my friends cisco 2925 modem which was a DOCSIS 2 modem and it worked (unfortunately my isp doesnt provide DOCSIS 2 modems anymore).
So the problem has to be with certain DOCSIS 3 modems. This also has to be a Mortal Kombat specific problem as every other game i have works fine online. The only people who can fix this problem is NRS but i have tried contacting them but got no reply.
I was on the phone to my internet provider yesterday and he is going out of his way to help me when he doesn't have to help as its NRS's problem and not my isp's fault. So now my isp wants to know what protocol the server uses as it may help him determine the problem?.

Tag colt hecterrific. Though I don't think you'll find a satisfactory solution.

are you running your modem into a router? if so you should go into your router's configuration screen and set the DMZ to your ps3's IP.

It looks like the problem is on nrs's side as every other game works fine and i have also had a technician sent out to test the connection. My internet provider wanted to know what protocol the mk server uses as this may help determine the problem?. We have tested two different modems and i am getting the same problem.

I'm experiencing the same thing. I was upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0, and in the morning of installation I WAS playing MK wired (which I have since release), maybe 2 hours or so. Come back later and blammo, wired I get infinite Connecting Lobby, wireless I get no connection at all.

Funny how MK is the only game I've run into issues with.

Yea for some reason mortal kombat's server does not support DOCSIS 3 modems so it looks like anyone with 50mb connection or better (which is standard in europe) won't be able to play mk online. Having said that I think you might be able to connect if you buy your own router and connect it to your modem. Do you have router you connect to see if that fixes the problem?. I am trying get a hold of one soon to confirm it works.

Yea I do have a D-Link router. Honestly, seems to be more trouble than it's worth to do this, as my connection has really sped up since I switched over. Apparently EVERYONE can accept and use a wired connection on a DOCSIS 3.0, but Netherrealm is too poor/inept? Something's up.

What's funny is I can connect to Arcade Kollection no problem. Ironic or what.

It's something else man, I got a EURODOCSIS 3.0 at home and I can play online without these issues.

No wired doesnt work the problem is mk's server is probably DOCSIS 2. I have had 3 different DOCSIS 3 modems provided by my internet provider and neither worked there but a friend of mine has a router connected to his docsis 3 modem and can connect.

Is it possible Europe has it's own 3.0 server? I mean we can't play NA vs Europe anyways so...

Otherwise I'm stumped that ONE game just gave up and refuses to cooperate.

EDIT: Router/Modem is Cisco DPC3825

Provided by the provider.
Got a Fibernet connection that should reach 60 Mb/s download if I'm online at non-busy times.
what make is your modem and where you given a modem and a router or mode/router combination?. I had a Cisco 3925 and a Thompson.

My modem and router are one device.
Pretty sure that it's custom made by my provider, called "HGW 3.0".

I dont no why but for whatever reason mk on the ps3 has two different server it probably has something to do with gamespy who runs the servers on ps3 but they have recently gone out of business.

I'm not having an issue connecting or playing, but announcements and chat don't seem to work anymore.

Anyone else have this?

Criss .The problem is your modem/router combo. It seems that a lot of docsis 3 modem/routers for whatever reason block you from connecting to the mk9 server by default and port forwarding or enabling dmz wont do anything. What you need to do is enable bridge mode on the modem your isp provided ( you might have to search google for a guide on how to to enable true bridge mode ) then connect your own router to that modem and that should fix it.

Cool, figured that might work but had to find (and dig out) my D-Link DIR 625. I'm now back online wired.

Thanks man.
