I was just thinking maybe its not NRS Online servers that are bad, maybe its their match making, cause if you look at how precise TTT2 match making is it makes sense

cause anytime i play a friend who lives close by on MK its never that laggy

Why ping DOES NOT APPEAR???? Perhaps matchmaking is not prepared to work till 16th. BTW online seems better than MK...

I can't think of one real-world example where that has proven to be the case. Peer-to-peer is the console standard because it's cheaper for publishers.

Because you don't know how stuff like this works. All having a server would do is add even more latency, as your input has to first go to the server, be processed and then forwarded to your opponent... when you could just send directly to your opponent. Fps games have dedicated servers for various reasons, reducing latency is not one of those reasons.

I never played any fighting games offline recently, so all I got to play was online, and I thought MK9 was really smooth. I never had a problem, other than random lag that is bound to happen, and I didnt know there was a problem until I came online to the forums.

Ignore those posts complaining about lag, they either have shitty connection or shitty skill.

Well it looks like they aren't done with online code. In a stream the other night someone asked Paulo if host could idle like SF. His reply was "not yet". So things aren't set in stone.

Nothing will happen because I played without my hard drive in. I use a flash drive instead and then just delete the memory on the flash drive once the game comes out.

It's online, and half the world play on wireless connections with shitty internet, you do the math, I refuse to vote, but I will abuse lag at anychance I can.

mk9 online is just bad, I dont care what kind of connection you have it is still not as good as tekken tag 2 online and that doesnt require you to pay 50 to 60 dollars a month just to play decent online.

However I dont think we should worry too much because NRS listens to their mk players, I am happy as long as online is at least as good as sf4 online which is still miles away from tekken tag 2 online.

The US is notorious for having some of the worst infrastructure/internet in the developed world, at the very least in relation to the money we have. There's no internet standard and if you want anything decent you will PAY.
