Gamestop is bad. I can't wait for them to go out of business. Won't be long now..
Agreed. There are numerous things that bug me about the company.

Pushing Game Informer on customers (a magazine owned by Gamestop), "Hmmm....so you're telling me that these 4 games will only get me $16 in store credit!? WTF", and of course the classic phone greeting: "Trade and save at Gamestop, where you can still reserve 'Hot Game of the Month'. This is John Doe. How can I help you?".

I could do this all day....lol. I have no problem with a company trying to be profitable. But with a tagline like "Power to the Players" you're not exactly being gamer friendly. If used games ever truly go away they will certainly be in trouble. Just imagine their profit margins currently on used products sales.

Well put. My hatred in part comes from working for them many years ago. I was in college and thought it would be this great job (I love videogames). I almost felt privileged when I got the job offer.

It was the worst job of my life. Minimum wage, part time hours, and they expect the world from you. Sorry, but you get what you pay for. I feel sorry for those poor guys behind those counters now.

Yeah not a fan of the company/business but I do enjoy going to my local Gamestop though. I'm friends a few of the people who work there and they really are good people. What's funny is those that I'm friends with who work there completely agree that the company sucks haha

You mean how pizza places talk about any deals they have going on? You mean how any customer service will rattle off a faq before getting to your problem? It's a business and they need to shill as many products, within a respectable degree, as they possibly can.

BTW, you'd get even WORSE things from pawn shops, which Gamestop technically is. If you want more money for the game then sell it online or to a buddy or something.

How are they not being gamer friendly? They off midnight releases, special pre-orders, a ton of deals, etc....

I personally don't like Gamestop but I don't agree with these statements and it's ones that I see all the time.

I think they are good to the casual call of duty fratbro but when it comes to other games they are slightly less than helpful. I was behind someone who was picking up a order on Shin Megami Tensei and the cashier was just dumbfounded by what he was saying. I had to bite my tongue to stop myself from laughing.

More salt please.
They're evil I like how they advertise 2 days after a game is released that you can trade it in and get $30 in credit off of a $60 game thats insane.

That's employees/cashiers, some are just clueless but it happens everywhere. They don't need to know a ton about games to type it up in the computer and see if they have it in stock.

You've opened the game, it's already depreciated in value at that point. You've used the game, it's already not a new disk. You're getting half your money back after having an 8-12 hour experience, good or bad.

Dude, they don't do that shit for gamers. They do it for money. Only money. Don't get it twisted.

No there's not, but people don't HAVE to go there.
well that's the point. Lots of people think they do. Stupid people, but people, nonetheless. Make a poll thread asking where everybody preordered from. I'm gonna go 75% say Gamestop, because people think its the only game in town. So Gamestop sets the rules and thats gross, cause Gamestop has all the integrity of a pack of hyenas.

Those people shouldn't be complaining then, shop around and see what's out there instead of complaining about Gamestop when that's all you're willing to go to.

I don't have anything besides Gamestop and Bestbuy here. All local stores went out of business or were bought out.

I don't even mind Gamestop that much honestly. Grundy might end up being my main so I surely want Gief-Grundy.

I guess that makes me "stupid".
