I never understood the animation thing. Usually when somebody has a complaint with a game I'll be able to see it and I'll agree or disagree, but with this I just don't see what they're seeing. I'll admit that some animations in MK looked a little off but for the most part that shit was smooth as eggs and I wouldn't label it as an issue with the game. The latest builds of Injustice look sexy as hell and the only problem I have with it animation-wise is the falling-over-just-to-get-up-and-fall-down-again thing.

...Yup, she's definitely a dude.

And trust me, there are better photos, but I'm not sure if they're "safe for work".

what exactly is the animation issue that so many capcom people have with NRS? I dont get it.
There is no problem. They are just fucking haters.
While there is SOME animation problems(most of them stances) it aint any worse than Nova's stance or Bison's parkinson's stance(Sorry if I have offended anyone).
They just hate cause the game aint made my Cashcom or doesnt feature lolitas with tripleG breasts.
The other day I was at Eventhubs and saw a plethora of ignorant posts like people demanding that the site fixed the news filter so they didnt even have to recognize this game.Another animu manchild was saying how people who like this game are fools and that it will be DOA like MK(Despite going strong at EVO 3 years after release). The same dude said NRS are bastards for demanding money for the Blackest nightcostumes but then went on to praise DOA's swimsuit DLC.
Rant Over....for now.

I've played most recent fighters in the last years and to be honest the animations are different for MK compared to the other fighters. It doesn't mean it's better or worse it's just different. Everyone is gonna have their preferences and biases based on what they are used to but just because something is different shouldn't make people ignorant about it.

I dunno what they could be talking about.
He's talking about the samething alot of the fgc base their opinion of NRS games on. When a character gets combo'd on they go into "planking" bounces. You can see it in MK9 and IGAU.

See how Cage stays horizontal and floats in the air while combo'd on. thats the "janky" stiff animation they are referring to. It looks like a flopping fish, planking, however you want to desscribe it.

I think the thing they see is that the animations are more deliberate, which is probably tied to the fact that they are using motion capture actors for the games... Like, most games they just program in the animations without having to worry about the feasibility of actors being able to do the motion. Also with actors, even with the most detailed instructions you can't really tell someone else how to do something exactly as you detail it. In fact, with more instructions to remember, the actors might get more stiff (deliberate) in their movements.

Or maybe something to do with motion captured 3d models vs sprites in capcom games. Consoles arent able to render the extra frames to make the animations more "real".. just a guess.
