Hopefully they do a better job with this one than they did with the MK9 guide, which didn't include several sections it was supposed to (such as the entire art gallery...), and included numerous typos (including getting Liu Kang and Jax's entire sections mixed up) and including genrally incorrect information. So can you only get this guide with the collector's edition or can you buy it separately as well?

Either way you can buy it separately. There's a standard edition guide, and the collector's guide from the OP. The standard guide is only like $16 at Gamestop if you pick it up with the game and you have either the free or paid Powerup card.

It's like the Gamestop membership card. There's a free version that just gets you points for every dollar you spend and saves you 20% on guides when you buy them with a game (doesn't even have to be the game from the guide). No reason not to have the free card. The paid card is $15 for a year, and it comes with 12 issues of Game Informer, gets you double points, saves you 10% on used games and used accessories, and gets you 10% more for your trade-ins, in additiona to the benefits of the free card.

Depending on how much you shop there, the points actually do add up. I don't go to Gamestop a whole lot, but after about 9 months I had enough points to get a free $50 360 controller.

It seems to me NRS is really trying to make up for any mistakes with mk9 and it seem unreasonable to think they wouldn't fix this when the guide was such a huge mistake the last go around.

I don't know if that last sentence makes sense.

Is it a hard Cover?

According to the description, apparently they had pro players write it? How else can they give us "tournament level strategies"? If this is the case, I'll defiantly buy it. I'd hate to buy the guide and have a repeat of MK9 where its just a bunch of screen shots.

NRS is pretty damn ambitious with this title. Ive heard that there is an app in the works for the game with video tips and boat loads of tournment level goodness. Anyone know if there is any truth to this? Id buy the hell out of app. Those can be updated. Its the only way a game guide can be viable these days. (For this type of game)

No, it's by some guy named Sam Bishop, who did the guides for Battlefield 3 and Ghost Recon Future Soldier. This looks to be his first fighting game guide.
