chicago MK UNITE..!!

Chicago MK seriously needs a dedicated MK gathering and stream, like valley stream monsters. I truly appreciate that medina and everyone else that helps with the GGA gatherings, but mk needs to get it's own identity with it's own space, stream and regulars. Especially since mk classics are coming, we need more time and resouces dedicated to mk, IMHO. What does everyone else think?

Also, I'm considering hosting a gathering (or few), starting the week after next. I can probably host 6-8 players comfortably; I'd have 3 setups going. Would anyone be interested? Im in NW suburbs, near Arlington race course.

I know am not from chitown, but i talked towebster, andwe talked about having a place in racine and or in milwaukee to hold tournaments, a place solely for gaming tournaments and nothing more.

streaming would be great as well, tho i have no knowledge of it whatsoever :(
webster told me of a few good players here in my are, but i am jealous of chitowns # of gamers for mk9 :(

Long time lurker here ( Active over at MKU though) I also happen to be a Chicago native and would love to get some offline stuff going. I agree, we really need a stable offline community.

i'd be down for games at your house pete, prob on the weekend tho if possible otherwise it'd be hard to make the drive out after work on a weekday

i think GGA is fine, especially for tournaments. i wouldnt mind have a weekly MK gathering on top of that though.

@cynikal, you should come to gga if you want to be active in offline, its alot more stable/active than most places, we get 20+ for local tournies

naperthrill here, I'd like to attend some gga tournies but on wednesdays I got school so if there's any tourney on friday or saturday I'd be happy to join.

not sure if its been posted here but GGA gatherings are thursdays now. its just casuals this week so i hope to catch some of you there tomorrow! ill be there around 630 or so

pimpimjim: there is a tournament not this weekend, but the next at ignite in chicago. try to make it out to that one if you are free that weekend

I've been MIA for a couple of weeks due to some unlucky circumstances at work, but I'll be there tomorrow night. Also, who would be interested in having a practice session at my place either Sunday night or possibly Monday or Tuesday if Sunday doesn't work? Let me know!

I am currently living at UIC housing. Where is this GGA gathering and where is "Ignite" at chicago? Is it anywhere near here?

I am down for sunday night. I need to start playing the game more often then every tournament that comes up. I cant make GGA Thursday nights since I have work and school now.

Depends more on who you play with and where. Where you live? Were you looking to come to gga or just asking for casuals in general?

Well to build a strogn community. We need to go somewhere where everyone can be there. GGA is a stretch for me. But Ignite Network is perfect for me.

ok... so i really wanna take fighting games seriously sooo... seasons beatings sounds like a great start! any1 planning on going and would possibly like to room w/ me? (preferably some1 i know from gga or elsewhere but new people are cool too!)

That's not that bad of a drive. GGA is every Thursday, you pay 5 dollars at the counter for the game room (cant play the arcade games unless you pay the 15). Bring whatever you can (console, monitor, game, etc) but the bare minimum would be to bring your controller you use to play =P

I personally get there around 7 PM and leave around midnight but there is people who get there as early as 5 PM and leave at 2 AM.
