Injustice - Boon tweets more "big" character reveals coming soon

Found a way to praise comics bash animated shows, hate on Raven, and bring up Red Hood, who else but Killzone
I wonder, why did you read through my entire post once again?
Why do you continue to do it?

Because core comic fans are not the end-all, be-all and appealing to new fans/audiences through new forms of media is a perfectly valid and understandable choice for companies to make.
That's not the problem.
The problem is that they change the ideas of the writers who came up with that in the first place. And very often they change stuff into the worse, just to please the masses.

Read the first Kick-Ass comic and then watch the Kick-Ass movie.
There are WORLDS of difference between the comic and the movie and if you appreciate the comic, you can't appreciate the movie.

There is a reason why Alan Moore for example is pissed off, when people mess with his characters.
I would be as well, if I would invest imagination and time to come up with fictional characters and scenarios for them, just to see them being mutilated, just to fit on the big screen and please the 14 year old boys, who think they've figured it all out.

Killzone You are still acting as if those who got into a character through an animated series are below you. I got interested in Raven thanks to the TV show and actually read up on her. I appreciated Batman more thanks to the animated series than any of the movies. But I also read up on the characters. Do I read through the hundreds of thousands of comic books to learn the complete history of a character? No, that would be silly. But I do read up on them, find out more about them. Sometimes it makes me really appreciate how ell done the character was in the series. Sometimes it makes me hate what the character was like in the comics at times. So why does my love for an animated series make me less than you?

Man of Tomorrow
Exactly. That is my point.

If Comic Starfire does not work with the idea of the Teen Titans cartoon, why not change the Teen Titan cartoon so it matches the comic characters it's supposed to be based on? Because core comic fans are not the end-all, be-all and appealing to new fans/audiences through new forms of media is a perfectly valid and understandable choice for companies to make.

Because a half clothed alien that sleeps around, a girl whose mother was raped by a demon and had a horrific upbringing, a girl who has sex with a man that could be here father and is a monster, a guy who hates his father for making him into a mechanical freak, and a boy whose a complete outcast in every other team does not make sense for a show geared towards pre-teens/young adults.

Just read a couple arcs of a Teen Titans comic and watch a couple episodes of the Teen Titans cartoon and just picture the comic characters in the show.

Look at Ultimate Spider-man: The comic had Gwen Stacy being sucked dry by Carnage then she is cloned and becomes Carnage. It has Doc Ock have his eyes nearly burned out in an accident. It has Black Cat sexually grinding on a 15 year old Peter Parker. It has Norman kill his son then asked to be killed, at which point he is shot in the head.

The TV show is geared towards children and is basically an "Avengers is training" thing. When people make ads, TV shows, etc....they say "who are we gearing this towards, who is the demographic?" and the Ultimate Spider-man comic does not fit into the "kids" demographic the TV show is going towards.

They change things to mix it up..
But why mix things up? If they mix things up, it must be for a reason, and I'm guessing it's a financial one. If you were right about your claim that pandering to core comic fans is more lucrative than non-comic fans, I'm curious why companies would "mix things up" if it would just lead to less money.

Unless it doesn't actually mean less money.

I mostly just skim through them, but you are quite entertaining
Is that a compliment?

You are still acting as if those who got into a character through an animated series are below you.
No I don't and that's what you still don't get, even though I'm saying it twice per day.
I AM ONLY TROLLING YOU PEOPLE. You annoy me with your Raven fetish and I annoy you with my trash-talking.

I don't care about Raven as a character and I don't care about your Raven shrine with your Raven drawings, a piece of purple cloth, the red ornament you stole from your mother to imitate Ravens animated show trinket and so on and so on.
But because I read through every single post I come across, I get annoyed when I see ONE MORE OF THESE MEANINGLESS RAVEN POSTS coming from someone who in the end of the day actually doesn't even know the character.
But then again I'm still only trolling and not actually insulting you. Fuck, I even know where you're coming from since one of my fav DC characters is actually Flash and that because 1) the old life action series and 2) Wally West in JLU and NOT because of the way he is in the comics, where he is ... boring in my opinion. Even Wally West.

Oh and the Wally West in Young Justice SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.

Unless it doesn't actually mean less money.
They don't earn money by having me watch the shows every Saturday night.
They earn money by selling toys and other goodies and who buys toys and other goodies? Kids, so they shift the characters from the usual shows towards the younger viewers, therefore Teen Titans, Ultimate Spider-Man and stuff like that.

Why do these shows fail to acomplish what the Power Rangers have acomplished, or the 90ties superhero cartoons like Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men and Batman: TAS and even Batman of the Future (or is it Batman Beyond for you guys?) have acomplished?
Because for some weird reason the producers failed to realize that the few shows back then were so freakin' cool and sold toys on mass, because everyone was into it.
Nowdays the producers think the people want to see the stuff you can see right now in the TV and I don't consider Teen Titans, Ultimate Spider-Man, Young Justice and so on on a point where they could compare with the older stuff. Simply because they're not cool enough.

It's not about trying to sell toys to young children, by creating characters who are perfect for them... it's about creating characters who are so freakin' badass that all the children want to have their toys and goodies.
That was the case back then and it's not the case anymore, therefore they cancel shit like Young Justice and Green Lantern.

But, like, why please the masses? I thought they made more money by appealing to core comic fans? Why pander to those schmuck non-comic fans?

...does not make sense for a show geared towards pre-teens/young adults.
But then how about they just don't gear the show towards pre-teens/young adults? Or here is actually a good amount of money to be gained from these animated series (either directly or indirectly)?

Why make all these changes that anger core comic fans if they are so important? Unless they just aren't really that important compared to non-comic fans.

Killzone You sure don't act like you give those of us that got into a character through the show any respect. I thought I had been clear that I actually looked into Raven's history because of the show. I know that she doesn't say "Azarath Metrion Zinthos" in the comics. I know that she's gone evil a few times thanks to her demonic half. Don't assume that every Raven fan JUST knows about her from the show and I won't assume that you hate the animated shows' fans.

I just want to say Ares is in tomorrow comic the same day god of war is released :) guess I was correct ... atleast in some way.

Numbface

You. Are Not. Alone.
Is that a compliment?
Only if you take it as one ;)
I AM ONLY TROLLING YOU PEOPLE.
Whats this?! A twist!?

I don't care about your Raven shrine with your Raven drawings, a piece of purple cloth, the red ornament you stole from your mother to imitate Ravens animated show trinket and so on and so on.
But I worked really really hard on those :(

Oh and the Wally West in Young Justice SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS.
You need way more UUUs to accurately describe how bad he is in that show

Wow.... still talking about Raven 20 pages later?

Here you go Raven fanatics. Try to fap away from your keyboards, sticky keys are never a good thing.

Because that demographic is important as they buy a ton of merchandise like toys, posters, etc... The high viewership coupled with the demographic also brings in more/better sponsors that pay for their ads to be shown during commercials. It goes on and on, the Titans comic shown as a TV show would be on Adult Swim before anything and that's not gonna bring in nearly as much merchandising/ad revenue as a show aimed towards (pre)teens or kids.

Comic fans drive the comic business, what are you talking about? Non-comic fans are more important than comic fans for a comic business? No. They may try to bring in more interest by showing safe/marketable products on TV but comic buyers support more than anyone at the end of the day.

I don't know if you're serious right now or if you're kinda trying to out-smart me and make fun out of me.
What ever is the case, just stop, you're bad at it.

But at least you got something right. Comic book fans are not that important when it comes to animated shows, because chances are high that comic book fans will watch the shows, because they already know the characters.

The producers don't make money from the shows directly, but from the toys and goodies. Kids buy toys and goodies for the most part, so the animated shows / movies / and so on are shifted towards the kids.
Additionally to that there is the chance that some of them might turn into potential comic book readers who will invest few bucks every second week in order to read the comics. That means more money in the long run.
Animated shows are not here to please some other kind of crowd.
They're only there so that the producers could sell more toys and earn more money and so that more people will get into comics and start buying comics, BUT ...

... how often do you see nowdays shows getting cancelled after the first or if they're lucky after the second season? Many. Why? Because the producers are as stupid as all the other producers who don't recognize what's important in the nowdays media.
The same stuff that was important 20 years ago and the same stuff that will be important 20 years in the future.

"Non-comic fans" is probably bad wording on my part. Should have said something like "non-core-comic fans", like the ones who don't really read comics but still buy comic-related games (like Injustice), watch comic-related shows, go to see comic-related movies, and are generally fans of comic characters themselves (while not actually reading comics directly).

Curious why companies make decisions that raise the ire of these core comic fans (like, say, putting Killer Frost in Injustice over Captain Cold) if the core comic fans are really supposed to be that much more important than the casual comic fans.

If it not LOBO it a NOGO!!! #YoLoBo
IDK if anyone said it pero.. I would love to see inque from batman beyond, she was a bad bitch.. Lol and someone in that twitter screen cap has her as their icon. Kinda obscure though.. and another obscure one, Ragdoll would be badass. Inque and Ragdoll would be fun as shit to fight with.. If Batman had the Batman beyond costume as an alt costume, like they did in arkham city, that would be killer... If this shit is poppin' this is the only game I would actually look forward to a lot of DLC for.. A more feasible character that might get in would be voodoo she is a bad bitch!!
