I'm gonna have to agree with Vil. There's really no such thing as an obscure comic character since there is always going to be a fanbase situated somewhere.

When they said "obscure characters," I'm pretty sure they meant characters that someone who has casually watched the cartoons/movies would not recognize. Someone that the average person has to research in order to understand.

Anyone remember when the guys at NR were saying that they were going to put in obscure characters from the dc universe and show them love? Not one obscure character yet. So far we have the most famous dc characters there are. All that's missing is manhunter (that would complete the justice league cartoon), raven/star fire(to finish the titans), black canary/zatanna (to finish the most popular dc women heroes), and as for villains the most famous left are Brainac/cheeta (which catwoman stole a spot from)/ Grodd (background along with darkseid) .
Obscure characters like booster gold,Metamorpho ,red tornado , and mirror master would be badass in a game like this.

I feel the obscure characters won't get revealed and they will just be in game because really at this point it would be a bad idea to start revealing them now when the game is at it's peak in character reveals everyone will be all happy then watch the video and be all " who tf is Booster Gold/Blue Beatle or etc.." since they haven't been revealed early they won't be at all until you play the game you're self assuming SOME obscure characters are in..

Apparently, obscure to them is below Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

It's probably B and C list characters. Most of the ones you mentioned are below that.

P.s. Grundy was in the super friends show , justice league cartoon (big episodes including one that got him close to Hawkgirl), arkham city , and the most popular batman stories the long Halloween ,dark victory . I actually know a 55 year old woman at my job who doesn't read comics who knows who he is. Not very obscure.

Yeah Grundy is one of the stand outs from the Justice League show I'm sure a lot of people know him from there, I wouldn't say he's that obscure

they kinda go hand in hand, his solo series was cancelled due to low sales

they don't give him enough spotlight and still has so many fans!! MMH is one of the best characters of the whole DCU

They've given him plenty of tries to hold his own book but it never lasts more than 20 issues because no one buys them. He works best in team books like JLI or 90's JLA.

I really want animal powered character to get in, don't really care which but I think Animal Man or Vixen or even BB if they could some how make that work but he's prolly dead, that type of character could be so much fun to play

He isn't promoted because when he was, no one gave a shit and didn't buy his books. It's why Cyborg is the exact same right now in Justice League. They can't figure out what to do with him and no one really cares about him so he's relegated to being Batman's personal Boom Tube/Hacker.
I don't hate Manhunter, I own quite a good deal of stuff featuring him. He just can't hold his own book.

Its not really a fact to disagree with, historically, he has not done well in terms of financial success. im not saying he doesn't have alot of fans, or isn't popular, or isnt a good character, or even that he doesn't have the ability to be successful. just that he hasn't so far.

he isnt coordinating. he's the teams primary powerhouse and is getting a backup series in the book.

Well yes i am happy that he is in the JLA and is the leader of the team kindof - as long as he doesn't end up mindwiping them and leaving hahaha untill now that's the only thing he has done for the New 52
