i dont know if they were putting on a show by changing chars. but, it seemed that tom bradys sub did not take advantage of the low mix ups that subs have. but, when he pulled out noob saibot. i realized hes stronger then people say.

also i want to throw this out. it seemed that tom tossed reo a bone on the cyber sub. to me it seemed he was putting up reo vs prefect legend which in my opinion back fired in finals. but, he knew he could beat reos cyber robo. but, was hoping to push perfect legends down to losers. so it would be easier for him.

i disagree with perfect legends last choice shang to me its a "EMP" thing. but, i would have went back to kung lao. when brady switched to johnny cage he should have baited the xray more.

either way i predicted this match at the end. with tom winning. future notice i suggest a better mix up game for finals will win. hi/lo

i find it curious that pdp PerfectLegends is being groomed by tom brady. i wonder how much P.L. would pay tom if he won. is that the plan? lol

lol I know Tom isnt allowed to compete in the PDP tournament. If he gets some kickback from PL if he wins no biggie.

nothing wrong with that. i came to that conclusion after tom asked P.L. right after teh GF what he tought about the whole thing. it was hard for him to give a straight answer. and with his last choice of shag tsung. im going to say borderline he threw the match. at the end. for the pay off of the pdp tournament.

It looked like PL had no time with Shang to be honest. Still undetermined if he's top tier or not. He also didn't have the matchup knowledge versus Noob - so that's up in the air as well.

Sub, Cage and Kung however firmly earned their spots at the top of the tier lists.

I wasn't commenting on the tier list, just which characters were in the top 5 at PowerUp.

I know you weren't. The question about which characters were used usually opens up a tier list debate. I was just throwing that out there before anyone brought it up. lol

Sub really shut down the reptiles but damn did that PL Kung Lao look liked like he was straight out of Dragon Ball Z. I'm not sure if Sub could of taken Kung Lao out to be honest.

Nevertheless, the Sub in the tourny really showed how powerful he can be and I'm lookin' forward to seeing him against teleporters in the near future.

Id like to know that to. Even Tom's Sub, which is like no other Sub Ive seen, was having trouble with PL's Lao. Its like how do you stay away from someone who has a bunch of different ways to get to you and severely limits your ability to control the screen and space properly?

About $500.

The turnout of the entire tournament was a little low IMO, there were probably 200+ people there over the course of the weekend. Of those, about 70 played MK9 (about the same as Super, and I believe MvC3 had around 100 or so).

But it's an Arcade event, not a hotel or conference room one, so lower numbers are more suited and definitely to be expected.

Tom and PL have known each other for awhile. I've also known PL for awhile, and I don't think he would throw the match against Tom. I do have to question his choice of Shang at the end though. I would've thought he'd go back to Kung, but maybe he knew his Kung would have trouble against Brady's Noob from previous games against him.
