VXG Announces Adding Injustice: Gods Among Us to Game Lineup, Plus Payouts of over $86K Total

The time is coming and many have already began to make plans to visit the beautiful part of the world that is St. Maarten for the Video X Games in July 2013. We've been sent a fresh press release by Rolando of VXG with some very exciting news for both Mortal Kombat players as well as those who plan to get involved with Injustice: Gods Among Us. Not only wiill Mortal Kombat be on the line-up for the Video X Games, but they are also pleased to announce that Injustice is also being added to the game roster! With even more details to come, hearing not only this but the payouts should make it that much easier to make your decision to go!

Aside from that, looks like a good line-up.

Honestly I can't see any way that they won't lose a ton of money off of this event.

Even considering the obnoxiously high 120$ venue fee...


Also every person that won a qualifier is another 1000$ish out of their pocket, so that's a LOT more money.

They have sponsors.. I don't think it's self-funded and I doubt these prizes are being paid from the door fee.

Not compared to an organization like MLG which runs through much more than that and still often operates at a loss. $100K is actually a small amount of money in terms of corporate investment.

Yeah but that's because MLG has some real real real big corporate sponsoring that's pretty much plastered on everything they do. The VxG website doesn't even show any sponsors.

Also MLG makes tons of money off of the stream, merchandise, gold memberships, etc.



Also MLG already has tons of PC's, Consoles, monitors, games, etc. VxG is going to have to buy ALL of that.

I mean they're going to need like 50 PS3's (10,000ish) just as many monitors (7,500ish) at LEAST 10 copies of each of 15 games (let's say 6000ish) that's already getting up to another 25k or so.

Nope. Actually a lot of MLG supporters provide things like monitors and equipment, but most of MLG's operating money comes from venture capital expenditures, which are private corporate investments and things you will never hear about unless you follow this kind of thing.

They come from companies like equity firms, rather than the 'visible' sponsors like Sony etc. MLG has millions worth of dollars of corporate backing from people you'll never see on a t-shirt. This is what allows them to operate at a loss year after year.

And as far as working with Casinos goes.. I can tell you first-hand that $100K is a meager amount of money to people who are established in that business.

To give you an example, the Sonesta Maho Resort and Casino that Rolando lists on the VxG website just received a $3mil investment near the end of 2012.

Where is this place? I wanna enter MK9, Injustice, and I may enter NBA 2k13. LOL NBA 2k13 is so fucking scrubby it will be easy to beat everyone in that game. I might get my brother to go, since he plays NBA 2k13 as well. I'm kind of sad that there is no ps allstars.

I wouldnt sit around and bother yourself trying to calculate their funds... VXG has tons of undisclosed money
