8. PlayStation Vita
> Company: Sony
Released first in Japan in December 2011 and then globally in February 2012, initial sales of the PlayStation Vita were encouraging. By the end of February, the company announced it had sold approximately 1.2 million units, followed by an additional 2 million units of software for the handheld game console. Yet sales quickly declined. From its release date to June 30, just 2.2 million PlayStation Vita units were sold, far less than the 3.6 million units Nintendo 3DS sold in just its first month. Recently, Sony has clumped sales of the Vita and its predecessor, the PSP, together to avoid highlighting embarrassing sales figures. Frequent complaints about the Vita were that the $300 price tag was too expensive and that its game lineup was both weak and small, especially given the availability of cheaper gaming through smartphones and tablets.
3. “John Carter”
>Company: Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS)
“John Carter” was widely touted by Disney, but the ingredients to make it a success were never there. The director, Andrew Stanton, had never directed a live-action movie before. The executives producing the film had minimal experience running a movie production. The reviews were, to be generous, mixed. The science-fiction movie, which cost $250 million to make and another $100 million to promote, opened with a meager $30.6 million in U.S. ticket sales. Foreign sales helped boost opening weekend to more than $100 million, but sales quickly fell. Disney said shortly after the release it would take a $200 million write-down on the movie, making it the biggest box-office dud ever.

The Vita recently outsold the Wii-U in Japan, so there's still hope. A game like Soul Sacrifice might help boost the sales.

Only game I'm waiting for the Vita

Even though it was a really poorly done movie, I really liked John Carter. Best flying machine thing design ever.

Compbros I refuse to pay for something that nets me "free" games where if my subscription runs out, I end up with nothing.

In the beginning, PS+ was awesome where they had really good deals and the stuff they offered for free you got to keep. Fuck that shit now.

So does every MK9 player

but if you're not heavily into MK9 or Wipeout wtf does it have that sells you? The game list is porous at best and all the games has terrible reviews. Call of duty for vita avg 2.5/10
I play a ton of PSN games on it.. Great for travelling

Man I have all the classics.. Metal Gear Sold, Resident Evils, Castlevania: SotN etc. I never owned a PSX (I had an N64), so it's cool to be able to replay/play through stuff on the go.

Edit: Oops, PSX, not PSN (This is why I should not try to type while playing MK)

Pig Of The Hut but yeah, that 1st party library is E-tier, haha

I dont have a ps vita but I liked john carter. John carter was better than avatar, prince of persia, stargate, other similar scifi movies. People expected it to be a life changing piece of cinema and it wasnt but it was more fun than a lot of other movies coming out.

All I have to say though is: at least it wasn't the Virtual Boy :D

My favorite handheld was the Sega Nomad, but that thing ate batteries like Gummy Bears and looked funny with your big ol' Genesis cartridge sticking out of the top. Still, that was probably the pinnacle and it was an awesome idea.

You gotta understand where they're coming from though, if you're a user why not just wait for like 3 really good free PS+ games to come out, spend 18 bucks, get them all and any other free game in the interim, then don't pay again until the next few games you want come out? Going that way Sony is giving people hundreds of dollars in free games and discounts with no incentive to renew for like 36 bucks, that's not smart business.

Believe me, I understand it... I just don't like it.
